Over the weekend, a rumor about God of War 3 having online co-op hit the net. This apparently came from a Sony retail site, where employees can take quizzes about upcoming games and products. Since the leak, Sony has been absolutely quiet about the rumor…until now.

When Sony’s Product Public Relations, Eric Levine was asked by Examiner whether or not this rumor was true, he, quite bluntly, replied:

“This news is false.”

Well, there you have it. Unfortunately, no online co-op for God of War 3. No worries, the game still promises to be one of the biggest releases next year.

One thing I’ve learned is to NEVER to a Sony execs word at face value. “These PS3 Slim pictures are false”. xD

  2. MakaiOokami Says:

I bet God of War 3 is going to be released, then there’s going to be a commercial where some dude asks the PR CEO about whether or not God of War 3 has co-op and he’s going to be like…

“The PS3 is a powerful system and God of War 3 is an awesome game, but there’s no way we could reach perfection by adding an online experience to a single player marvel like God of War 3″ Then have some people behind him playing Co-Op on God of War 3 or some large obvious thing pointing out that God of War 3 has co-op and then

    “PS3 it only does Co-Op”
“PS3 it only does God of War 3″
    “PS3 it only does everything”

and then I’m going to laugh, because the commercial is so self-satirical and awesome and everyone is going to go bat shit crazy over how good God of War 3 is.

Either that or it won’t have co-op and people that overhyped the feature will be disappointed. Honestly I don’t expect God of War 3 to have co-op, but I also never expected Ninja Gaiden 2 to have it either. So take it with a grain of salt.

haha i can see it. I still think it will just be DLC maps that have co-op functions, like the GTA online map missions.

    Man that’s a bummer.

  5. soldiercell Says:

good, online coop is gay in this case!

  6. VanilaGorila-x- Says:

Just like they said the PS3 Slim was false. I’ll believe that there’s no co-op when I confirm it for myself. Until then I’ll consider it as a possibility.

    Peace,
    VG

  7. wtGp Says:

there is co-op in God of War just as there is a ps3 slim

  8. smokey_vols Says:

Why do people want co-op? Is there really anyone on Kratos’s side that would help him? From what I see he just kills anyone and anything in his path. Kratos is too bad A for co-op.

  9. Max Power Says:

    Good!

  10. Torankusu Says:

    Thank goodness he’s alone

  11. kirobz Says:

I don’t really mind since I see GoW to be best without co-op….

  12. no co-op - PS3 Trophies Forums Says:

    [...] [...]

  13. Richy2k9 Says:

    hello …

SONY uses leaks as a weapon & most rumors turn out to be true afterwards.

i wish there is no co-op for God of War 3, it just doesn’t make sense!

yet if they would add some let say addon / DLC where you may have some mini beat’em up or fighting game featuring Kratos against the monsters, some humans & warriors would be cool.

if somehow they do manage to put a co-op in this game, would be better if a side quest where some unknown soldier would go on Kratos path & may even take over the story for a God of War 4 ;)

    well time will tell …

    cheers!

  14. BigWoopMagazine Says:

yea I was worried for a moment, I don’t want the developers wasting their time on co op. I want bigger badder crazier single player, all the way!

  15. dbigfeet Says:

good, makes a better single game

  16. orbus Says:

no need for co-op in this game whatsoever. online games are fun and all, but theres nothing like a good solid single-player.
