The Ratchet & Clank series has been Insomniac Games‘ longest running I.P. spanning from the PS2 generation in 2002 into the PlayStation 3 with the Ratchet & Clank Future series. With each on the PS2 surpassing at least one million units, Insomniac is no stranger to sales. But with Ratchet &  Clank Future: A Crack in Time’s sales missing the mark for the NPD numbers, is Insomniac Games disappointed?

The answer straight from the horse’s mouth is a resonating no. According to the community managers on Insomniac’s official podcast, the Full Moon Show, Ratchet & Clank Future:  A Crack in Time was the fastest selling Ratchet & Clank title in the franchise’s history. This should come to no surprise to fans and gamers alike seeing that A Crack in Time could be the last Ratchet & Clank title from Insomniac.

In any case, the Ratchet & Clank series should be applauded for its seven year presence on the PlayStation platforms across seven titles (not counting the PSP iteration by High Impact Games). Did you buy the game? And more importantly, how would you feel if the series is complete? Post your thoughts in the comments below.

Have not purchased it yet, but will in the future and if it is the end I will look forward to the next game from the crew at Insomniac.

I love this game and the whole series. Very fun. Worth every penny and hour I have sank in it over the years. If this is the last, it was a good one…but more would definately be welcomed.

I would be sorely disappointed if this is the last Ratchet and Clank title but I do think the should do at least three more before capping it off for good. In the meantime I seriously would like to see them do up the original PS2 games in an HD collection ala God of War. The only thing I disliked about ACIT was the lack of explorable planets, and too many moons. That said, I just want the next games to be bigger in scope this one felt kinda limited and felt shorter.

Own all the games love them very, very much, just think it should be and end now, i think tools of destruction was better than a crack in time anyways.

imho R&C jumped the shark, all those talented people should make something new.
I enjoyed all the previous R&C, but I have no desire to buy/play this one.

If you build it, he will come.

    doesn’t always mean he’ll come because it’s good…
