Don’t Fret, PSN System Activations Still at 5

11/25/2009 Written by Anthony Severino

PSN

Yesterday all hell broke loose when it was discovered on an official PlayStation website in the terms of service section, that PSN users were only allowed to activate 3 systems per PSN ID. It turns out that despite being on a official PlayStation site, the information was incorrect.

Thanks to the EU PlayStation forums Community Team Leader, MusterBuster, it’s been revealed to be nothing more than a typo. You are still allowed to activate a total of 5 systems (PS3 and PSP) per PSN ID.

Everyone can now put back their torches and pitchforks. Sorry riotous mobs.

Thanks to Karissa for the tip!

what about the 24 horu thing? Is that still in it?

The 24 hour thing is the only thing that bothers me, i was fine with the 3 downloads but the 24 hour thing makes no sense to me. I have 2 ps3’s in my house and if i want to play in one room 5 hours after i play in a different one i should have that option and it shouldnt be forced upon me to go to another room.

BTW sev, you and you site kick ass

yah, the 24hr thing really sucks if it’s accross the board, hopefully for old games it won’t be the case, ruins online multiplayer games

Well i dont think they can retroactively change the TOS can they? Wouldnt that be essentially breaking their own agreement?

    @ Superstrokey

That’s how it works. Generally, when you agree to the TOS, you agree to allow them to modify it at any time, without notice.

Yeah they can change it but i dont think they can retroactively alter things, they can change them moving forwards but i dont think they can change them into the past. It would be the same as a bank changing part of you interest rates on one of your investments and then asking you for the money back for past transactions. Obviously they cant do that and I would ASSUME that it is the same for a TOS, but again i could be wrong but i dont think that makes sense under any law.
