The Ratchet & Clank Series is one of the oldest and longest running franchises for Sony. It has seen a total of nine games across the PS2, PSP, and PS3. During Insomniac’s latest podcast, the future of the seven-year-old franchise was hinted at.
Ryan Schneider, the community director for Insomniac games, had this to say:
“I think the next step for Ratchet & Clank is simply getting it out into the mainstream, which is what we’re working to do. And I think It’s been ready for that kind of exposure for a long time now.”
Nothing else was mentioned about the future of the series, and you can find the full podcast here.

Cool stuff. I love R&C they need to keep it alive and keep evolving the game.

I don’t really understand what they mean by mainstream other than moving it into other mediums like TV or movies…I don’t really like the idea of a cartoon based on it for kids…I feel that would ruin the games for me and then Insomniac would also have to start dumbing down the games so younger kids could play…I hope you know what you’re doing Insomniac!!
