Sony Announces Current PSN User Base Figures

The PlayStation 3 is not the only one to have turned three today, the PlayStation Network also shares the same birthday, marking it’s third year of service PlayStation users. Starting on the PS3 the network expanded onto the PSP, and, in some respects, onto the PC. With numerous firmware updates, and revamps of the PlayStation Store, the network has greatly improved over the course of it’s life, with even more updates coming later today. The free service was previously known to have over 24 million users, now, to mark the service’s coming of age, SCEA has announced how many users the service currently has.

PSLS Presents – Hideki Kamiya, Platinum Games, Bayonetta

Bayonetta , the highly anticipated action game from Platinum Games, will release in western markets next January for the PlayStation 3. The game centers on its title character of the same name, and is set in a fictional European city. Bayonetta is directed by Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe series creator, as well as Okami mastermind, Hideki Kamiya in cooperation with publisher Sega. PlayStation LifeStyle managed to interview none other than Kamiya himself over the game, DLC, Bayonetta’s sexuality and much, much more.

PSLS Presents – Kevin Shortt, Ubisoft Montreal

At this year’s London MCM Expo PlayStation LifeStyle managed to talk to Kevin Shortt, the lead script writer for Avatar: The Game about everything from the title, to the movie, to fighting cosplayers. The game is set two years before the events of James Cameron’s heavily anticipated movie, giving the game far more creative freedom than the average movie game tie-ins.

First Teaser Video of Blue Toad Murder Files Released

Blue Toad Murder Files follows a series of dastardly deeds that occur in the quintessentially English village of Little Riddle through a series of episodic games. Last month PlayStation LifeStyle interviewed Jade Tidy, the producer of the title, about the episodes, the first of which will release on December 17th. PSN Review – Military Madness: Nectaris

The Military Madness series began way back in 1989, and came to America in 1990.  The first title in the series, which was on the TurboGrafx-16, won the 1990 Best Military Strategy Game Award.  Now the newest iteration in the series, developed by Backbone Entertainment, is available on the PlayStation Network.
