Final Fantasy XIII Boxart – Beautiful, yet Unsurprising

Final Fantasy XIII is getting incredibly close. Not only does the title have a Japanese release date of December 17th 2009, but a short three months later comes the NA and US release. And you know when a game is close, when the boxart for the title is unveiled.
The European cover art has been fully revealed, sent to Joystiq from Games Press. The art is very simple, baring the main protagonist Lightning, and the logo for the title. Though it excites the staff here at PlayStation LifeStyle that we’re one step closer to Final Fantasy XIII.

Wonder why they broke the tradition of just having a plain simple white cover with the logo on it. Hopefully they’ll change their minds since this will stick out like a sore thumb amongst my other FF games.
…well most of the staff anyway. I know I am not a fan of the series, it’s just too bizarre of a series for me. ‘Course I know what this game does for console sales, so I am definitely excited on that front!
Maybe that’s the idea? Final Fantasy XIII IS the first Final Fantasy game for the Playstation 3, among several other firsts(though the XBox 360 release is not what I’d call a positive first. With 50-60 hours of gameplay, there’s no way they’re gonna fit the whole game onto one DVD)
Sure they will, they just have to dumb down the graphics and audio.
This will come on 1 Dvd for sure.

the box art looks lame
I love it… I just love it, Lighting is an amazing character so strong and different. At least it’s not Ashe like….
So when are the 3D Lightning Sex games going to come out? I don’t plan on using it, I just figured it’d be funny to bring up out of the blue.

well I’m not generally a huge fan of RPGs, especially Japanese RPGs (I really don’t like anything that looks or feels similar to Anime) and so have never played a Final Fantasy game before. However, considering how much hype there always is around these games, and now that GameFly exists, I will probably at least rent it to give it a try.
what’s so bad about the boxart, oh it’s not a plain boring white background let’s all cry about it becasue lighting’s on the front! Seriously some of you sound so sad complaining about the smallest of problems, all i’ve heard people do about this game is complain, i can’t wait for it to come out so everyone can shut up whining.
well… I certainly don’t mind lookin’ at it. its kinda sexy in a very strange way. mmmm…. polygons….

every final fantasy in the US has had boxart..
the white box with logo is still in the Japan version.. there are 2 kinds, white box with logo and Lighting on fenrir (odins horse)
BY FAR the highlight PS3 title of 2010.
It looks beautiful and inspirational…. Just like Square-Enix.
FF10 did not have the plain boxart, if my memory serves me, so this isn’t a first for some of you to get in an uproar about.
also, no way this will be on one dvd for the xbox- look at lost odyssey for some first hand proof.
