I feel bad for tony. Think about it, if you wanted to make a skateboarding game “realer” what would you do, especially with new controllers for every interactive game announced?

There’s no way to make this better, really. if the controller wasn’t the issue, and it truly is the game’s shit design (which doesnt make sense given the years of practice they’ve had to perfect a skateboarding game) then….. i’ve got nothing.

Now although I haven’t played ride, the prospect of pay USD$120 for anything that has a peripheral for an “on-rails” game worries me deeply.

Although sometimes we, the consumer, don’t always show our support towards products that deserve it i.e. Mirrors Edge, Valyria Chronicles, the price point here indeed does create a huge barrier to entry.

It doesn’t matter how well YOU think the controller works, fact is these people are professional gamers much like you’re a professional skater. If the experience has too high of a learning curve for even people that play games all the time, then the game doesn’t have the mass market appeal that you intended and it’s game over.

The people who know how to skate would probably just buy better boards. So this game was obviously intended for casuals. Thus this game needs to be accessible. That’s all there is to it Tony. Sorry to disappoint you.

Wow really Tony? Most of the impressions I heard were people who did try it out at E3 and said it’s going to tank because of price, lack of response and who wants another piece of plastic hardware to go with a game. The first 2-3 games were great something new. Everything since then is rehashed. He has to really try hard to put a positive spin on this being one of his major sources of income. I think Totino’s pizza rolls dumped him already. Tony Hawk sold out to Activision for a paycheck long ago. It’s sad because he is a talented guy.
