Hot off the heels of the EA announcement of Dead Space 2, Game Informer has kindly shared the cover for their next issue. The cover, of course, is Dead Space 2, but it may be something that you weren’t expecting. An Isaac Clarke makeover!

The next issue of Game Informer will feature ten-pages of exclusive details only found in the magazine. The cover art shows Isaac in battle with a necromorph. It seems as well that he is baring new armor, with a new slimmer look.

That’s looks sweet. Hopefully slimmer armor means a more free-flowing and fluent movement.

  2. It looks like he also has some kind of booster on his knees. If they’ve added a jet-pack type thing that’d amazing! Especially if the rumors are true and DS2 has multiplayer.

  3. Dead Space does not need multiplayer!!!!! Will devs please stop forcing multiplayer into fantastic singleplayer games??? Every game does not need to have it.

True, not all games need multiplayer. That said it doesn’t change the fact that having a solid mulitplayer adds hundreds of hours to a game’s longevity, and I’m more than sure that game developers are well aware of that fact.

Calm down there. I didn’t say it needs multiplayer. I was saying it’d be cool if the rumors are true and Dead Space 2 has multiplayer. I can think of a few different modes for it, but I wouldn’t want it to be there if it wasn’t going to be good. Look at Uncharted 2 for example. Everyone was panicking, thinking “Oh no, the game will be ruined” and it turned out even better! Why? It was because adding multiplayer (competitive and co-op) made it a COMPLETE game.

For a single player only game, I felt Dead Space was a little too short. I played through it 4 times within a month of it’s release. It was that good, but it was also short enough for me to. Single player-only games should be 15-20 hours long IMO.

Desh is bang on. Not every game needs multiplayer, but having a good multiplayer mode adds hours more onto the game, and yes, the developers sure as hell are aware of it.

Over on N4G, everyone keeps saying that’s a chick in that picture. Even though there’s no boobs and it’s clearly a guy and EA even said Isaac was returning as the main character. Some people are just retarded…

  7. @Mendax – over on N4G, they probably have no idea what a real woman looks like anymore.

@Pesico – My thoughts exactly. I never had a problem with the controls in Dead Space until I had it on Impossible mode, and the slow mobility caused me issues with being able to shoot people in time.

@Delta – In reference to your first comment… those knee boosters probably have something to do with the Zero G environments. The devs said there would be epic zero G areas… I wonder what will make them so epic? possibly jet pack ish controls while fighting crazy aliens??

In the great words of Borat – “I am very excite!”
