Yakuza 3 has only been released in Japan, gamers outside Japan have been awaiting the release date of the PlayStation 3 exclusive brawler for quite some time now, but they might not have to wait much longer as SEGA have finally revealed a western release date.

Europe and North America will get the chance to try out this open world gangster game, in the month of March 2010, a month that is already brimming with great game releases.

Yakuza 3 has been a major success in Japan, selling over half a million copies. SEGA hopes to replicate that success in Europe and North America

Gary Knight – SOE’s European Marketing Director had this to say:

Yakuza 3 was one of the most requested titles for localisation by our European SEGA community, so we are delighted to be able to fulfil their wishes with this announcement. As well as delving even further into the rich narrative of the Yakuza universe, the development team have pushed the PlayStation 3 hardware to the limits to produce a beautiful and startlingly realistic depiction of the Japanese underworld.

yea, the game won’t sell because of the packed release window. and then Sega will never release another yakuza game in the west….ever.
