Brütal Legend was a very entertaining game, thanks in large part to Jack Black. It offered a compelling fun story mode and an addictive RTS like online multiplayer. Double Fine is once again going to make the fans of the title happy.
The second DLC named “Hammer of Infinite Fate” will hit PSN on December 17th. You can also have the luxury of adding some new trophies to your profile, seeing the DLC will add 9 new trophies based on the DLC. The pack will be available on PSN for $4.99.
The Hammer of Infinite Fate pack allows players to upgrade Eddie Riggs with three new outfits including the Mountain Man, Black Metal and Zaulia Threads.
The DLC will also include:
- Four new paint schemes for the Deuce
- Four upgrades for the Deuce. Three weapons: the Disgorger, the Coiling Maw, and the Eye of Sorrow (a weapon that draws its power from the Sea of Black Tears, and fires “black projectiles of doom”) along with the Oculus of the Lost (a GPS unit that points out the location of Serpents).
- Four new multiplayer maps: the Altar of Blood, Coiled Remains, Crucible of the Titans and The Amplified Cliffs. Each map contains “an in-game element of surprise that puts a strategic twist to every Stage Battle,” or so says EA.
I’m excited about the beard, or course, and the new achievements and trophies,” said Tim Schafer, President of Double Fine Productions. “But the thing I really can’t wait to get my hands on is that Oculus of the Lost. Using it to find the last Bound Serpent isn’t cheating, because it looks so cool on my car.”
5 dollars and extra trophies and a chance to go back to a game that I enjoy as WELL as having additional benefit of getting those bound serpents I’m too lazy to hunt down entirely including multiplayer which is hella fun (especially if they fix some of the matchmaking bugs) with all new power ups and everything?
You had me at Brutal Legend and $5.00 and extra trophies. Time to go back to a game I love that so many others hate.
To Zack Islam: Please do not be offended, but I think referring to the game in a past tense is not quite appropriate. I am no English major by any stretch of the imagination, but I think the game would be better served by using a present tense. You say it was a good game, presumably because you played it, and you are referring to that experience, but has something changed to lessen the quality of Brutal Legend? Is it no longer a good game? Does it not presently offer a compelling fun story mode and an addictive RTS like online multiplayer experience?
Edit: I realize that my response may be considered a breach of etiquette, and for that I apologize. I just want to help, and posting here is the easiest way to communicate with the author. Again, I mean no offense.
@AssassinHD
Everyone agrees that the lack of online connection being patched has lessened the Brutal Legend experience thus it WAS a good experience and then becomes somewhat painful for the online at times.
It’s hard to get into matches.
People’s stats often get wiped making it difficult to accumluate wins without going into the story mode and forcing it to save.
Once you get into a match there is a chance that it will crash half way through.
All of these factors have lessened the experience to the point that most of the casuals have probably shelved it or sold it back by now and the hardcore fans of th game are likely to be the ones that keep playing it.
Thus it could be acceptable to use past tense even by your anal retentive post above.
I mean no offense but it’s a bit silly of an argument, thus I made a silly argument to combat yours.
I mean no offense. This is just my only way to communicate with AssassinHD.
Again I mean no offense.

Your response is not altogether unexpected, and perhaps I even deserve it. There is one flaw in your logic however. You say that the experience has been lessened because of a lack of a patch, but that would mean that the experience has been unchanged from the original experience. If the game was good then, and nothing has changed, then it must still be good now. The lack of a fix does not make something worse. It simply makes something the same. A patch would undeniably make the experience better of course, but since the experience has not been made worse I am afraid your response is out of place.
