With the Spike TV Video Game Awards just hours away, anticipation is growing about what new, world-exclusive unveiling they will have in store for us. Geoff Keighley, host of Spike’s GameTrailers TV, posted an exciting tease on his twitter feed, that will sure to excite any video game fan.

Within the hour, Geoff posted the following tweet:

Do not miss the first five minutes of the VGAs for our biggest surprise premiere in VGA history!

These are some high remarks, and hopefully this year’s show will deliver. Just for comparison, last year’s show brought world exclusive trailers for the following games:

• Brütal Legend
• Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
• Fight Night Round 4
• Mafia II
• Terminator Salvation
• Watchmen: The End is Nigh
• Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned
• Dante’s Inferno
• God of War III

And no one can deny that these are some AAA, blockbuster games. If Geoff can be believed, tonight’s tease would top the likes of Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend and God of War III; all of which, no doubt, are some of the biggest games this generation.

The 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards premiers live, tonight, at 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.

   Lemme spoil this for everyone, or save any PS fan the first five minutes of the show.

   It’s Gears of War 3. Much bigger , much better and much more badass. You will be able to dual wield 2 chainsaws and there is a hidden Sex minigame where you can give Cliffy B a Handy J .

   @Kain81 Serioously, I can’t believe people fell for ODST. It’s not that it sucks but the price is not right. I wonder how Reach would do. I’m really glad I got a PS3. This year is just amazing. And next year too.
