Come March 2010 the next iteration of the God of War franchise will grace the PlayStation 3. The game is already looking to be one of, if not the most anticipated game of 2010. To make the title even more appealing to franchise fans, SCEA have put together a God of War III Ultimate Edition. Only one problem, the $100 price tag.
In this tough economy plunking down $100 bill on just one video game is a tough sell, even if it is God of War III. To make sure Kratos’ minions, the fans, get to open up Pandora’s Box on day one, the world’s largest online retailer is offering a celestial discount to those who pre-order now.
Amazon.com is offering $10 off on pre-orders of God of War III: Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition comes packed inside a sculpted replica of Pandora’s Box, which is brimming with a copy of God of War III and the following:

Are you kidding me?! The Ultimate Edition is soooo cheap compared to the content you are getting for it. I was expecting this to be at least $150. I thanked the heavens when it was only $100
skulking123 – it is expensive for most because, unless you’re a collector and truly enjoy the things included, most of these things you will look at once and then they will just sit on a shelf collecting dust. For the rest of us who don’t really enjoy the things that are usually included in Collector’s or Special Editions it seems very expensive because we obviously aren’t willing to pay for it. I do think the Pandora’s Box replica looks cool, but I know better than to think I will actually get an extra $30 or $40 worth of value out of this stuff. I also feel like the soundtrack could at least be a hard copy with a cool case and booklet instead of a digital download.

$100 is still alot of money for most of us unless your the type who is hardcore for the franchise and wants the Ultimate Edition for collectors purposes. If it were say $70 I would probably get it but $100 is just too much even at $90 its way too high for me. I love the box and all but it would probably just collect dust and just be a storage box for GOW Collection and GOW3. I think Sony might just end up releasing the soudtrack on PSN.

god…. I hope this deal is around after the holidays, i just dropped the cash on the special edition Arkham asylum deal amazon had…. gotta wait till i hemorrhage more cash in their direction.
