Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands Details Revealed

Ubisoft have revealed the first details regarding their latest platformer “Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands“. A “blockbuster experience” is promised from the developers. Fans were certainly excited to hear about a new title continuing the original Prince Of Persia lineage, today Ubisoft reveals a few more details about this title.

Ubisoft have announced “Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands” will be expanding the Prince Of Persia universe in May 2010. The games release close to its movie counterpart offering fans a lot to look forward to.

Ubisoft released some new details about their latest installment in the series:

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands(TM) will expand the Prince of Persia universe with a new storyline, the introduction of new characters, and new powers over nature and time. The game takes place between Prince of Persia The Sands of Time and Prince of Persia Warrior Within.  Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is the next chapter in the fan-favorite Sands of Time universe. Visiting his brother’s kingdom following his adventure in Azad, the Prince finds the royal palace under siege from a mighty army bent on its destruction.

Game features will include:

  • Classic Gameplay Reinvented: From huge-scale multi-enemy combat to dizzying feats of acrobatic prowess in gigantic environments enhanced by the Prince’s ability to control nature and time, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will push the Prince’s prodigious abilities to unseen levels.
  • A Blockbuster Experience: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will offer players unforgettable set pieces made possible by the advanced technology offered by the award-winning Anvil engine. With all-out war at the gates of the kingdom, the Prince’s abilities will be challenged like never before through the course of epic wow moments.
  • Mastery Over Nature: Wielding powers of nature and time, the Prince will have unparalleled mastery over his environment and his enemies. The Prince will discover that harnessing the forces of nature itself will prove to be a devastating companion to his ability to rewind time.

    Yes .,,, that would be sooo great, for now i only have them on PC & i don’t have time to play, would prefer repurchase a remastered version on PS3 … ;)

    the new game seems promising .. will look forward to it, hope to see a demo soon.

    I still own the original 3, and they work on my ps3,,,, yay!

    ahem,,, anyway,,, I hope that this is an indication that they are returning to the game play mechanics of the old trilogy that made it such a hit. I’m not too worried about the story, especially considering when it takes place, they can’t really do anything that epic with it. What they probably should have done is continued the other story they started, and returned to the old game play mechanics, by giving elika the ability to manipulate time, and the prince a normal combat system allowing him to fight multiple enemies, and allowing them both to die from time to time when you screw up. Ohhh well,,,, looking forward to it nonetheless.

    I’m pretty sure they learned their lesson.
    Next will be more like the ps2 trilogy.
