Little has been revealed so far about Metal Gear Solid Rising, the newest game in the Metal Gear series that Hideo Kojima has handed to a brash, young development team at Kojima Productions. What has been discovered though, is that Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid Rising will have something in common.

Dennis Zopfi, formerly of Guerrilla Games and a Senior Producer for Killzone 2, where he worked on game and level design for the triple A FPS. He has left Guerrilla Games to become a Senior Producer for Metal Gear Solid Rising! As with Metal Gear Solid 4 had it’s American influences with producer Ryan Payton, MGR appears to be following suit..

It’ll be interesting to see what type of influence Dennis will have on the game, but it looks as if Kojima Productions is doing it’s best in making sure the game will appeal to all gamers worldwide. Hideo hinted that more information would be revealed about Rising at E3 2010, though even any new information is revealed before then, we’ll make sure to let you Metal Gear fans know about it.

    Neat, though I doubt Zopfi is American, since Guerrilla Games is a dutch company…

    I have been influenced by many a great dutch product.

    I expect a FPS starring Child Soldier, Jack “The Ripper” Raiden.

    Seeing as I just read in the article about Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker for the PSP that Hideo Kojima sees that as MGS5 in his mind…I expect this to be a dumbed down version of what we normally see in MGS because they will try to shape it to fit the audience of the XBox 360…DAMN YOU MICROSOFT FOR STEALING PS3 EXCLUSIVES! I really actually hope I am right because I would love the first multi-platform MGS to be absolutely horrible and have everyone blame it on Microsoft…also so that 360 owners don’t get a true taste of what MGS is supposed to be. Those casual gaming morons just don’t deserve anything better…I really don’t have anything against most 360 owners, I have just had way too many try to tell me that I bought the inferior console and I love every chance I get to prove them wrong.

    I think PS3 owners can take delight in the fact that there will be no MGS4 remake for 360, because there was an MGS1 and 2 remake for GameCube back in the day. It seems that Kojima does not really support 360 all that much though. I wonder, if they did port it over to 360 would they change the playstation 3 in the background near the beginning of the game to a 360? Or would they keep it?

  6. Kaminari says:

    Yeah, Guerrilla is definitely a European studio. So much for the “American influences”.

    @onionpaper

    even better they have a 360 but it red rings on snake so he just plays the PS3 instead.

    giese are you kidding me?

    I don’t give a shit if it’s a multiplatform title or not- i just want MORE MGS, and i’ll tell you this,

    A) If the game sucks after 3 years or dev. time, I’m going to be furious, as no MGS game has ever let me down. I won’t care if it’s on 3 or 19 systems, I just want another great story.

    and

    B) there’s no way they would release a bad MGS- i know kojima-san is not working on it as the director, but this is his child- he’s not going to just let them slap his famed Metal Gear logo on a pile of shit just to sell it- It’ll be worth the wait, they always are.
