Shadow of the Colossus Tackling Reprinted Giants
With The Last Guardian anticipated to be releasing sometime in 2010, it looks as though Fumito Ueda and his team are trying to build up the hype train for the already widely anticipated third game from the group. This hype looks to be coming in the form of Shadow of the Colossus, but most likely not what most people are hoping for.
Many of Japan’s retailers have added a new listing to their store and its for a reprint of the classic game Shadow of the Colossus, dubbed “The Best Edition” on the listings. The game is shown to have a February 4th release date and get ready for this, its slated for the PS2. While this is a nice move for those who have not yet picked up this epic game, it might create a bit more hype if this was possibly a remastered version of the game for PS3, similar to the God of War Collection. This could be leading up to that possibility though and hopefully we hear more about it as we enter 2010.

That would rock if they made it for the PS3 like the GOW collection did that’d be a must buy

I seriously want news that they’re making a collection rather than a re-release on PS2 version. Don’t fret about the re-release on PS2 though because “the best” is the Japanese version of “greatest hits.” It’s only a wonder that it wasn’t “the best”ed earlier.

One of the only problems with SoTC is the choppy frame-rate. I can’t play it for 5 minutes without getting a headache. This would have been improved if it was released as a collection on the PS3.

ah I still own this game. Maybe its just me, but I don’t really see the point in paying for these games over again when all they’re really doing is sticking it on a blu-ray disc, so I guess I don’t care that they didn’t make it for ps3. yet. save my money for the new game.

BigWoop – I don’t see the point in paying for the game again either, IF you already have it. For those of us that either sold their copy or never bought it to begin with a remastered edition for the PS3 would be AMAZING!
