I definitely think Uncharted 2 deserves GOTY over MW2…all Infinity Ward did was update the graphics slightly and make a new, VERY SHORT story, while the team at Naughty Dog made the most impressive looking and most amazing story in a game I have ever seen. Not to mention they added multiplayer. Is MW2 fun?? Yes, but they didn’t really do much in the innovation dept. they just wanted to bank on the success of the first title.

Well its funny that because I finished the game in 5 hours on veteran difficulty. My second playthrough of the game and guess what it doesn’t deserve GOTY whatsoever. Nothing in the single player campaign had me saying Wow at all. My opinion Uncharted 2 should have got it. If not UC2 then Assasins Creed 2 or Batman Ark Asylum. Oh and if you doubt my credibility of MW2 just send an empty message to Geddesmond2 on the PSN network and compare trophies. I played enough of the game to know if its Goty material.

Did people even vote for these awards or was it another one of those shows were the hosts pick the winners?

Lol MW2 best original score. Now when I here best original score I think something that hasn’t been done before. But COD4 ,COD5, COD6 all very simular to each other. Am I missing something here.

Uncharted 2 had some balls releasing this year, with MW2 coming out, it was going to overshadow anything even better than itself. I remember getting excited for MW2 when I first heard news about it, my excitement quickly faded naturally, regardless of the hype the game was generating. I care for less and less multiplatform releases each year. Next year I’m only looking forward to SSFIV and FFXIII. Sony is pretty much top-tiering every genre, in racing simulators we got GT5 to look forward to, in action/adventure we got GoWIII, in FPS we got MAG and Resistance 3. This year Sony made moves, finally made the price drop and launched and aggressive ad campaign. Next year the goodies will unleash to the masses. I wouldn’t be surprised if next year award shows see’s a bunch of Sony titles stealing the shows.

@Joshstork – MW2 first playthrough – hard mode – 4h 52min. I was pissed. I still am pissed. The only redeeming quality this game had was spec ops. Its overhyped bullshit. But, this is not the place to argue this, its simply my opinion.

@Delta – Borderlands was definitely a great game as long as you have friends, and its pretty easy to find people to play with. It would get 100 times more boring if enemies didn’t respawn, eventually you’d have nothing left to fight, and then whats the point?? If you need a friend to play BL with, PM me on PSN network, ID same as here. lvl 50 siren, lvl 25 hunter and beserker, I have yet to start a soldier.

Well, despite the fact that I feel its very undeserved, I expected MW2 to win some GOTY awards. What really irritates me is that this is the second time I’m seeing an award for Brutal Legends narrative, and Jack Black really aint that great. Mark Hamill with the Joker was phenomenal. Also, MW2 getting best original score, total BS. I didn’t find any of the music in that game interesting, compelling, or note worthy. Uncharted 2 definitely had it on that. Ohhhh well….

A game of the year that wasn’t deserved. It’s a good game and all, but honestly Uncharted 2 kicks MW2′s ass. I’m shocked that Assassin’s Creed 2 wasn’t even nominated. I see Assassin’s Creed 2 as the best contender against Uncharted 2. So much depth and amazing story lines to both games.

If you are completing the game in 4 hours, perhaps it’s because you set the difficulty too low for your skill. I had it on hard to start with and got 9 hours out of it, more than enough for a game like this, I’m now on veteran and getting more hours also collecting intel. MW2 definitely deserves to be a contender for GOTY but uncharted 2 beats it by far.

Wow. MW2 is a really good game, but it is not Game of the Year quality. Simply put, it is not a complete game. It has all the multiplayer components in place, but a 4 hour campaign? Really? When MW3 comes out, if it has a 10-15 hour EPIC campaign to go with Spec Ops and Multiplayer, then I will say that the game is deserving of a GOTY award. But until then, not a chance. I’m shocked Borderlands was nominated too. Without having someone to play with it gets really dull, because 99.9% of life on Pandora is trying to kill you (I actually felt lonely…) and no matter how many times you clear out an area, MORE DAMN ENEMIES SPAWN.
