Never tried Life with Playstation. Seems like all that stuff is available on the internet just using my PC.

  2. @Jack – it pretty much is, but I think its worth checking out. Its kinda nifty, I like how you can scroll around the world and get news headlines from tons of different countries. I haven’t used it in a while, but I’ll look because of this update, just cause I’m curious.

@JackC8 would you even use it on your PC is the question here?

I like Life with Playstation, the PS3 is getting a lot of rep because of it’s computing power, ideally, we should all donate at least an hour of computer power to this cancer research, if all +27mil PS3 users do that, we should find cures to some cancers. The reason why they’re giving Life with Playstation so much usability is for incentive to get use it and donate computing power, since Folding@Home is running at the same time you use it.

I’m using F@H in Expert Mode, so I couldn’t care less for those local channels.

I’ve been donating a few hours a week for awhile now, it seems like a good thing to do.

the new streaming video app is pretty nice, it links to the ps3 store and the streaming
works well. there is also video in another one of the channels now too.

Kaminari, I’m doing the same. I’m running F@H Expert dedicated on 2 PS3 Phats and soon to add a Slim to the mix.

JackC8 – I think most people probably use Life more for the Folding@Home feature than anything else. It’s good to hear there are people out there really interested in helping the cause. I haven’t done it in a while but I’m definitely going to start again.

  8. JackC8 says:

Thanks for the info guys. That world news thing sounds kind of interesting. And folding at home is a good cause.

F@H is awesome… DEFO A MUST! BUT could any’1 anwser this: If i turn my ps3 off then on again later will it continue the same work unit? or does it start a fresh each time? Have it on when i can but just aint checked the %……. Thanks…

  10. After getting hit with YLOD three times (nothing to do with F@H) I don’t want to risk running it on my system any more. I don’t remember how many units I had, but I think it was around 700? I stopped months ago. I will definitely check out the update, however. I use Life in the mornings while drinking my morning cup of joe.
