Modern Warfare 2 may have been the biggest entertainment launch in history, selling millions of copies and garnering stellar reviews from across the board, but that hasn’t stopped the game from being riddled with numerous bugs and glitches that have caused various, different patches to be released. Now, Infinity Ward has released the latest patch for the title, as they work towards a more stable game.
IW’s Community Manager, Robert Bowling, has tweeted that:
“PS3 patch just went live! Includes the Akimbo 1887s re-balancing, fix for Prestige hack, & fix for Public “private” Match. 360/PC soon”
The patch weighs in at 15MB and can be downloaded now.
I wonder why every single patch from Infinity Ward for COD 4 and MW2 is weighted at 15mb??
Just loaded up MW2 and no prompt to download 1.07? Anyone in the UK downloaded the patch yet?
i wonder how many patches MW2 will have in a year
Pffft.. I have this game up for sale on ebay it’s an overated peice of crap all people do is camp to get kills complete and utter BS.
Also this game must have the record for most patches within 40 days.
At least they’re all small patches. Also, I think it’s great that all of the patches are coming out almost immediately and on the PS3 first.
Yep they have been pretty good st supporting the game.
And damnit the 1885 akimbo was one of my favorites , but it was only slightly overpowered and the range on them was ridonculous.
these pataches are getting annoying

The xbox 360 version doesn’t have as many problems as the ps3 version the only patch that was required on the xbox 360 was the jav glitch..
Also if they has beta tested on the ps3 then we wouldn’t have had as many problems with these patches they released a broken game @ launch point blank.
Infinity Ward definitely drop the ball with the PS3 version…I hope after all this that people will hesitate a little more to buy the next CoD so quickly and teach Infinity Ward, actually mostly Activision, that we won’t give them our money so easily if they are going to be so lazy about game testing before release. Honestly, with the availability of beta testing now and all of the resources that Infinity Ward has access to it is completely unacceptable how many bugs are in MW2. The same goes for any company with any game, I’m not just trying to rip on Infinity Ward. I feel that developers have gotten a little more lazy since the introduction of online gaming. They wouldn’t dare release a game with so many problems if they wouldn’t be able to create patches for everyone to download later on.
I guess its a good thing I am not interested in the competetive online part of this game. I have not had a single issue with the singleplayer campaign or online co-op. Because of this I will gladly buy the next COD game day 1.

This is what you wrote to Bling -

I have both consoles, I have the game for both consoles.. I completely disagree. The 360 version is PLAGUED with problems. The private match glitch is still a problem the Akimbo glitch needs to be addressed (that’s all people are using on Live right now) .

I am on the fence with what you’re saying. On one hand- quality control should be better in a lot of instances (and I can see where people get lazy knowing that they can ‘fix the problems later’) .. on the other hand- you gotta ask yourself as a game developer: do you anticipate that your game along with backend servers can withstand the amount of people playing at the same time… I mean in Europe and North American ALONE the game sold 4.7 million copies on LAUNCH day. Let’s say that 20% of those are online players (which we know is a short-ended guess) .. it’s a lot to expect perfection and no glitches. See my 360 rant below as to why I’m still impressed and thankful we got this game!
Finally the hosting issues 360 had vs. the PS3. On my gamer router I have both my PS3 and 360 hard-wired (both reporting NAT type open)… I can host games without ANY problems on the PS3.. the 360 starts kicking people off slowly. (I’m on the highest internet service my internet provider offers).. the problem on 360 for hosting is that they’re using an older protocol to host games vs what the PS3 uses so my ISP throttles me as if I’m using bittorrent.
For all of those reasons (and the fact that I don’t have to wait for MS to certify the patches for Live; the fixes are applied instantly on PS3), I’d rather play on PS3 since launch for the lack of issues I have.

and my numbers were wrong above actually! lol … It wasn’t all of Europe.. it was the UK. Not counting anywhere but North America and the United Kingdom- I don’t think anybody expected this kind of response. The fact that we got more than 1 small patch is a testiment to how hard IW has worked and continues to work that we end up with the best quality experience they can provide (from what they can control).
