If you haven’t already pre-ordered the God Of War III Ultimate Edition, Kratos has more to convince you with before you decide weather to get the special edition or not. RoadRunner Records are planning to intensify your gameplay experience of God Of War 3 upon its March release.
Announced from Roadrunner Records, the EP titled God of War: Blood & Metal, will be released in March as a part of the God of War III Ultimate Edition, and will include five exclusive unreleased songs from Roadrunner artists including: KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, DREAM THEATER, TRIVIUM, OPETH and TAKING DAWN.
God Of War III’s game director Stig Asmussen had this to say regarding music in video games:
Music has always been an important part of videogames and can help bring titles to life. Our goal is to make God of War III a special release in all areas and this just another way to offer fans and newcomers a worthwhile experience.

sigh~ im getting really sick of this crap…
I remember back when you preordered something you got something realistically useful…
Sonic and knuckles = a shirt
super mario sunshine = a towel
etc
and when special editions were just cool…
halo 2 had a metal case
doom 3 had doom 1 and 2
etc
now the special editions… are just things that devs toss stuff at in hopes to make more money… its getting really depressing =\
I’m guessing you dont know about the Pandora’s Box that comes along with the special edition? you can put stuff in the box, that’s “realistically useful”. plus it looks awesome.
And since when is a metal case cool??
You tell him orbus! I really don’t like all of the “Making of” crap and art books that are included with most special editions because I really just don’t care how the game was made and about the concept art, etc. However, the Ultimate Edition of GoW III does look pretty cool and has some of the best extra items I have seen included in a special edition. For one, the soundtrack is filled with artists you actually know and might want to listen to instead of just a bunch of instrumentals that no one cares about. Besides that you get the cool pandora’s box and some extra downloadable content. The best part is you get it all for $90 (at Amazon) instead of paying an extra $100 like certain publishers make you pay for say….a set of night vision goggles…

u are completely wrong. l’m sure the special edition games u paid for was crap but the “Making of” videos from the games l bought were awesome. l want to know how, why, and what ideas to make such an awesome game such as God War III. Heck l spent the whole night watching the special features and the “Making of” of the God War II collection. l love to learn the insight of how they created such an amazing game so don’t complain about this Special Edition because your the only that doesn’t like it. Anyways that Pandora’s Box looks totally remarkable
Nobody is wrong and everybody is right. We all like different things and that’s ok. Unfortunately gaming companies can’t cater to 100% of gamers. I for one enjoy the art books. As for MW2, I did try to get the collectors edition for the vision goggles but it was sold out. Didn’t want the goggles to spy on my hot neighbors but I thought it would make a nice centerpiece since it came with the foam head.
But you gotta admit, most special editions, physical, “collectables” thown into a package are….pretty shitty.
Batman: AA- batarang is plastic and can’t be removed from it’s stand… close inspection, it looks pretty cheap, and it’s just from a mold.
MW2- NVGs have a very limited view- and even though they work, using them AS Night vision goggles would be insane, as your vision is reduced to the equivalent of taking a 4X4inch square, and putting 6 inches in front of your eyes.
GTA4-
–Lock box was ok, but again, noone would ever really use this as a real lockbox since it can be physically opened or pryed with little force
– duffle bag holds practically nothing… really, you can’t even call it a duffle bag
RE5- patch was ok, but the action figure looked absolutely nothing like him, and the sachel was…. unbelievable. Not even close to a messanger bag.
If i didn’t include something from these collections (something small) it was because it worked- It’s not my point to say that everything included is crap,- not at all. What I’m getting at is this: Enticing offers to purchase a 90+ version of a game usually pack with them something physical, like a bag or something as just that extra bit of bang for your buck, and I honestly can’t think of any recent special edition items that have been worth the extra change. Keep in mind, the dvd bonus features, special in game stuff is being left out of my arguments- Those are great, and worth the money. I’m just pissed at the crap we think we’re getting, and then it just never delivers.
Anyone else feel this way?
^ Modern Warfare harden edition was worth the extra buck *atleast if i remember correctly*
+20 usd, you get Call of duty classic *15 usd, and its not a bad game if it came out sooner or much later people would use it, reguardless good for cod fans/trophy lovers* and you got a metal case and some other things
