Fans of Polyphony Digital’s incredibly realistic driving simulator, Gran Turismo, have enjoyed the ability to save replays of memorable race sessions for many years now, but lacked the ability to show off those replays to anyone other than friends with PlayStation consoles and a copy of the game. But all that is about to change with the greatest entry yet in the series, Gran Turismo 5.
Kazunori Yamauchi and his team showed off some new footage for GT5 at the Asia Game Show 2009 today, and one of the slides confirmed a rumor that, until now, had very little traction. GT5 owners will be able to record and upload their high-octane races straight to Youtube. The game is slated to release next March in Japan, and Summer 2010 for North America and Europe.

Yet another reason to purchase what’s looking to be another masterpiece from the good Polyphony Digital.

Man, I hope GT5 has in-game soundtracks… The time trial seems to be lacking that feature.

Time Trial was not intended to show off all the features it was just put out to wet your appetite for GT5 until it is released in the Summer of 2010 unless they have trouble adding FIM Superbikes to the game…

Yeah, the time trial doesn’t have much of anything that GT5 will have. In fact, it doesn’t even have the graphical finesse of GT5: Prologue. But that new physics engine is absolutely astounding, and completely changes the way I thought a Nissan Z is supposed to handle.

God i hate the time trial demo! Its like riding a drunk slug thru a pool of syrup. Maybe it’s because im used to playing Burnout Paradise though i suppose. Gonna take some practise to get used to the realistic pyhsics engine, but im sure it’ll be worth it.

Another cool feature. I’d get a kick out of posting some replays for my friends to see.
Hope we can create our own music playlists from whatever we’ve got on our PS3’s hard drive as well.
