    pretty realistic predictions, I hope they hold off infamous for a year though maybe just put out some DLC

  2. ENiGMATiC_HiTMAN says:

    Those are some very good predictions and I bet at least 75% of them will come true.

    The gaming industry is as easy to predict as a wwe match. lmfao!

  3. I hope the motion controller prediction is wrong, I hope it comes out in spring in all territories.

  4. wtGp says:

    l thought the uncharted psp has been confirmed false

  5. Funny, the thing I want the most from that list is PS2 games for download on PSN. I would think $15 would be a better price point though and maybe $20 for the more popular titles kinda like the PS1 $6/$10.

  6. I seriously hope your PSN predictions come true. And I think inFamous ne-… THIS year isn’t gonna happen. Hope what you say about Starhawk, Twisted Metal, and the new IPs are true. And I hope you’re wrong about the motion controller and especially The Last Guardian.

    MOTION CONTROLLERS BETTER NOT BE DELAYED! I can’t wait to get my hands on Sony’s take of the “next step” in gaming. We’ve already seen how the Nintendo can cater motion to the casual, now we need to see what motion can do for a serious/hardcore gamer.

    I would also doubt the ability for PSN to compete against GameFly. I would much rather rent a disc and wait for it in the mail than download a massive file onto my hard drive (I don’t have the fastest internet). Not to mention I think for the convenience of renting from your living room the PSN rental service would cost more than Gamefly.

  8. hmmm dont think Killzone 3 is gonna happen just yet. Neither is Resistance for 2010. Maybe a teaser for Resistance. If it does get placed in 2010 than it would probably be delayed. and like many others said no Infamous 2 either. Another PSP…….we’ll see. Though I dont think it will be released until late 2011

    hmm Uncharted for PSP seems interesting but I dont think Naughty Dogg is willing to place an Uncharted type of game into the PSP.

    I would want PS2 games to start popping up. Would like to get FFX on PS3. Also StarHawk would be a great announcement since its been hidden for awhile now so saying it will appear this year is reasonable. E-Book compatibility would be nice feature to have. Though I cant say there is a strong demand for it but would be nice to have.

    Well what I am expecting this year is another solid year for SquareEnix. Final Fantasy Versus 13 gameplay trailers to be released throughout the year with another possible december release for japan or spring release. Also Kingdom Hearts 3 will be announced this year for sure. Either at E3 or TGS. I say this because Nomura has been dropping intensive hints on his “new” project other than FFV13 and with those hints it can only be Kingdom Hearts. Its release date is late 2011. This release date all depends on if they will be using a engine that has already be released or if they will make a new one. But the game is gonna look amazing

    On Playstation side tons of new IPs are going to popping up this year. Also by the end of the year I believe Home will probably be close to being ready to be taken out of the “Beta” phase. GT5 will be announced that it will be released the week following the end of E3 or a couple weeks after in US/EU territories.

    Well this is what I got from the top of my head. Either way their will be even more money spending in 2010. This will no doubt be another “Year of the PS3″

    No way Infamous 2 is set for the Fall. 2011 earliest.

    Insomniac will release something this year as normal, but I’m wondering if it won’t come from the other studio, so that Resistance can stay in the oven a little while. With all the commotion surrounding R2, and from their statements on framerate and fan reaction to the last game, I’m betting R3 is going to be another night-and-day difference from its predecessors…and will probably be given a little extra time.

    Killzone could make it…but I wonder if it wouldn’t depend on R3 coming or not. Last time they separated them so they wouldn’t cannabalize each other. No telling if they go for that again.

    The rest of it sounds reasonable enough to me. The Last Guardian is anybody’s guess. In mid-January, I can tell you this…God of War fans are going to be drooling.

    I really hope Sony gets the motion controller out before Fall. They need to establish themselves before Natal hits. If they don’t set the tone, the media is going to give it to MS by default.

    @skullking123
    another solid year for Squrare-Enix? Outside of FF13…they’ve been kinda stale…especially on the PS3. MS got some pretty mediocre rpgs a year or two ago, but Square’s just now getting something out for Sony. Their forecast, at least for the next 2 years, looks better than the last…I’ll give you that.

  10. @cornerman8

    well i really was talking about FF13 seeing that it sold 1.5mill copies in a week

  11. JackC8 says:

    PS2 titles for download on PSN would be nice. Gran Turismo 4 would be awesome – I’m really sick of having to set it to 1080i every single time I turn my PS2 on.

  12. Karum says:

    Oh how I would desperately love to see inFAMOUS 2 announced this year. That is my second favourite new IP this gen behind Uncharted.

  13. dbigfeet says:

    I think if half this stuff came true, most people here would be very happy. A Syphon Filter game and Infamous 2 update woule make me sing a song. But i doubt that they will release PS2 games online. PS2 is still too popular AND with the success of GOW collection, Sony might re-release PS2 titles in that type of format.

  14. Xael says:

    Resistance 3 has to come out this year. If you guys payed attention to their cycle the gap between the last two games were 2 years. Resistance 1 (Launch Nov ’06) Resistance 2 (Nov ’08) sooooo Resistance 3 will launch Nov ’10 or somewhere around the fall ’10. It will be announced at E3 and covered all throughout the months until release just like R2 did.

    You probably won’t be hearing any news about Killzone 3 until TGS (at the earliest) because you wouldn’t want to take some of the steam away from other top tier FPS Resistance. Unfortunately though what will take some steam away from R3 will be the next CoD game (which we all know will release later this year as well). I for one ain’t buying it, but there are PS3 owners out there who love to waste their PS3 prowess on standard third party games. Whether you love R2 or not, a packed 60player Team Deathmatch game is WAAAAAAYYYYYY better than anything MW2 had to offer.

    PS2 games will be a dead giveaway and will coexist with the new premium services annoucements, the one real guess is if they’re going to go through with releasing Dreamcast games on PSN.

    I unlike other people, I feel like we do need another inFamous this year. This new IP was a success and these developers should be very much in tune with developing for the PS3 now, so just because they work on a sequel so soon, doesn’t mean that they will rush it and potentially mess it up. Again most of these games took forever in development because the engines and programing had to be worked on from scratch. The reason why we didn’t see Uncharted 2 much sooner, I’m betting had a lot more to do with waiting on the PS3 price drop than the development time it took. And low and behold Uncharted 2 outsold it’s predeccesor in just under 4 months! I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how Batman: AA2 will fare if it does release this year.

    Sony WILL deliver on it’s games, those dark ages of “Sony not having any games on PS3″ are LONG over, but all I got to say is Sony better beef up their PSN service, because Xbox will see another price drop and people will eat it up and have Microsoft then tout how “XboxLive can do this” and “XboxLive can do that”. If Sony wants to really trounch Microsoft this year, it will be on what they will do with PSN. We all know Sony is going to take the cake on Motion Controls but if they don’t do primarily focus on PSN, then they won’t beat Microsoft by much.

  15. I would love to see Infamous 2 sometime this year, the first game was just fantastic. Anyway, on to my predictions:

    Ico/Shadow Of The Colossus remastered Blu – Ray release for PS3 announced, launch to be Winter 2010.
    Demon’s Souls announced for EU, launching in Q2 2010.
    Gran Turismo 3 and 4 (Possibly 1 and 2 as well) remastered Blu – Ray release for PS3 announced.
    Gran Turismo 5 outsells Halo: Reach, Aaron Greenberg cries like a little girl.
    Final Fantasy Versus XIII gets a release date at the E3 – December 2010 for Japan and Spring 2011 for US/EU.
    Grand Theft Auto: V shown at E3, release in 2011.
    Uncharted 3, Assassin’s Creed 3 announced at the VGA’s, release to be Winter 2011.
    White Knight Chronicles 2/ Yakuza 4 announced to be releasing in US/EU in 2011.

  16. I dont see where you guys are getting this confidence from for Resistance 3. It’s not coming out this year for sure. it will be announced but wont be released.

    @David Macphail

    dont think a new Uncharted will be shown. Naughty Dogg has said that they would do another Uncharted but they would want to make another game beforehand. Gran Turismo remastered is unlikely. PD is going to be extremely busy working with GT5. Not all the features that have been promised are going to make it into the game so dont count on older versions just yet.

    @dbigfeet
    Its not necessairly Sony’s control to make remastered collections. Santa Monica Studios have said it themselves that it takes a lot of work to do a collection. Since you have to find people who are willing to work on it and then you have to go through the code all over again to make it better. Im not saying that more collection will not be coming out but I believe developers are pretty busy atm with all the games they are making especially Japanese developers since their games usually use all their staff to make.

    On that note dont expect to many remastered collections to be released this year. God of War is one of the, if not the biggest franchise on playstation so Sony knew it would be an automatic success.

    hello …

    how i would like these predictions to be true ;)

    i wish that somehow, it becomes easier for more countries to join in the dance …

    2010 will be another year for the PS3, where it will be the 2nd machine in the sales chart & later on we’ll see where it goes.

    cheers!

  18. @ Skullking123 – it typically takes 2 years to make a big game, there have been 2 years between most of the generations big franchises (Uncharted, Assassin’s Creed, Call Of Duty, Ratchet & Clank, Gears Of War.) Resistance is no exception to this, there was a 2 year gap between Resistance 1 and Resistance 2 so it’s only natural to assume that Resistance 3 will come out 2 years after R2…….which would be Q4 2010. That’s why people have so much confidence in R3 coming this year.

  19. [...] years, Sony Computer Entertainment plans to be a big participant at CES and Several photos of Sony’s booth area have been released which show an enormous amount of effort that Sony is putting [...]
