Sony Trademarks its Territory

01/05/2010 Written by Anthony Severino

Over the past couple weeks, Sony have been hard at work filing trademarks for many different names. First Qriocity, then just recently Cloudsurf was trademarked as well. On the very same day on which Cloudsurf was trademarked, Sony also filed for yet another strange name.

From the description of these recent trademark filings, they are much more likely to be a service of some sort, rather than a game. The latest Sony trademark fling to be uncovered, VoyAgent also fits that bill. The description covers:

“game services provided on-line from a computer network; entertainment services, namely, providing on-line computer games, music, video and related information; rental of audio equipment; online distribution of music, image or video; providing on-line electronic publications, not downloadable; online distribution of radio and television programs.”

All of this certainly sounds intriguing, hopefully we’ll be getting some clarification on these trademarks about whether or not these are indeed services, or something else completely.

  1. I have to assume that at least one of these is associated with the upcoming premium service, or is the actual name of the premium service. It would be kinda lame sounding to just say its “PSN Premium”. But which one? And what the heck are the others?
