Ben Heckendorn, master modder of all things videogame-related, created the PS3 Slim laptop you see above, then gave it away or sold it. In any case, someone won the thing for free, and is now selling it on eBay.
eBay user altfeldtoy won the laptop in a giveaway at a local business, and since the seller has “no interest in PlayStation 3 gaming” they have decided to put it up for auction. This mod sports a PS3 Slim stuffed into the case you see above (and below in the gallery) along with a 17″ Gateway LCD that sports a 1280×720 resolution. It currently sits at $2,992 USD, has over six days left, and can be viewed here. Good luck to anyone bidding!
psssshhhh only 720p
not worth the money
not worth it simply because you would still have to plug it in and therefore it loses any portable benefits that a laptop should have…at least I assume you have to plug it in because you would need one massive battery to keep that thing running for very long…kind of an asshole though to win something for free and then turn around and sell it for $3000. Don’t you think the modder, Ben Heckendorn, should get some of that money since he put all the work into it??
720 makes more sense for games since very few games actually run in 1080p.

It’s a big argument since Sony really pushed 1080p, but I think there are less then 30 games that support true 1080p.
The only aspect that might be appealing is the portability but for that amount you could get a baller ass LED tv and 2 PS3 slims. Or a standard 32” LCD and like 6 PS3 slims and a refurbished 60gb bc model PS3
they should make a screen that snaps on to the ps3 like they used to make for the ps1 & 2
@solid
too bad the slim has a curved top.. It makes that idea a little less likely
to add to what robotron said – 1080p is pointless unless your screen is at least 60″ or bigger. go in a tv store sometime, and compare side by side models of 720p and 1080p and you wont see a difference on the smaller screens unless you stand entirely too close for normal viewing. so… 720 is completely appropriate for a laptop.
hello …
hummm too expensive, who’s bidding on that thing !!!? maybe because of the sole unit, still like Natiej85 said, can have more for the price.
cheers!
