Who doesn’t love PS3 bundles? Especially in Japan, bundles typically sell much better than standalone consoles. Perfect examples of this would be the recent Final Fantasy XIII ‘Lightning’ white and pink PS3 bundled with a copy of FFXIII, the Metal Gear Solid 4 gun-metal PS3 bundle, or even the Yakuza 3 white PS3 bundle. This latest PS3 bundle in Japan isn’t paired with any big-name games and the PS3 itself doesn’t have any special finish, instead it’s a plain black 120GB PS3 bundled with a Blu-Ray disc. However, the bundle should still have plenty of consumers moonwalking over to their local retailer to pick up one of these bundles.
One of the biggest news items of 2009, was the passing of the beloved King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Sony Japan have just announced via an official press release that they plan to commemorate the release of Michael Jackson’s This Is It on Blu-Ray, by bundling PS3s in the region with the Blu-Ray movie. The bundle features a black PS3 (maybe it slowly reverts to white?) and a copy of the movie on Blu-Ray,the bundle costs ¥33,500 and at that price you really can’t beat it. Check out the packshot below…
Would anybody really buy a PS3 just for a bluray movie? I don’t see this for anyone who wasn’t already planning on getting a PS3. cool packaging though. If it came preloaded with a bunch of Jackson’s mp3′s however…
@Draegen
that would be sweet.
Give me a break!!!!!!!
They couldn’t even put a sticker or something on the PS3? LOL. I suppose, whatever sells a few extra units.
japan only
are the japanese MJ fans? I wasn’t aware they were… this seems like something that should have been a US release.
If it had a pic of bubbles on it, I might pull the trigger.
