PS3 Sales More Than Triple In Japan

"Now that's what we like to see Kazuo!"

There was this little title that launched last month in the Land of the Rising Sun, Final Fantasy XIII. Perhaps you’ve heard of it? That, coupled with a lower price for the system, ensured that the PS3 well surpassed the previous year’s sales figures in Japan.

According to ps3center, Sony managed to sell 496,598 PlayStation 3 systems this past December, a full 350% more systems than the previous year’s 141,731 units. Media Create, tracker of sales, has suggested that the system might be able to reach 4.5 million units sold in the country even though it only just hit the 4 million mark two weeks ago. One thing’s for certain – this console is selling like crazy.

Well as long as they are helping the rest of us great sales number or great game and not just the Japan exclusives but the worldwide releases. Then I’m down, I need some of those fool to pick up Killzone2 and Uncharted 2 so they and get some more love and 360fanboys can have a little less to talk about when comparing sales figures of exclusives and what not.
