The December 2009 NPD Numbers have been released. For ill informed readers, the NPD Group is the leading independent video game research firm, that monitors and tracks video game hardware and software sales in North America.

Hell yeah! PS3 beat out Xbox again

I’m still surprised to see how long the Wii’s legs are. It really is hitting its stride. It annoys me. >_<.
However, PS3 still a very solid month. PSP, not so much. Looking forward, the first couple of months, with solid software, should provide a good, consistent transition into the summer price cut ( I can dream!).
it really bothers me how well the Wii is still selling, you would think every person in the world interested in casual gaming would already have one…If you’re wondering why it bothers me it’s because the more support we see for the Wii the more support we will see for simplistic games that fit the needs of the casual gamer and I’m afraid this will negatively effect the focus on some of us more hardcore gamers that aren’t just interested in games because they have a motion gimmick attached to them. Honestly, the Wii is only outselling every other console because any moron can play the games…even some old fart who still thinks a computer is too “scary” to attempt to use.
*sigh* Sometimes I wonder if people know that their PS3 plays games.
Gee willigers! Look at those Wii sales numbers. Tsk Tsk, hardcore gamers. Btw, wtf does that mean, anyway. Hardcore. Do you really mean to tell me that the only people playing Wii are soccer moms and geriatrix?
Oh, and if the oh-so-hardcore PS3 developers were so dedicated to their hardcore gamers, why are they copying the “gimmicky” motion controllers with the upcoming “wand”? Same goes to you 360 freaks.
Wii rule.
I think the Wii can someday surpass the PS2. I have seen the console on wedding gift registries.

Did someone actually go to all the trouble of signing up for a Playstation website with the sole intention of preaching to us about how great the Wii is???
I know there are very few good games on the Wii but if this is how much spare time you Wii owners have……..that’s just sad.
