MAG is nearing its release date and the massive beta test for the game looks to have played a big part in shaping the final product. In a recent interview with the SCEA Blog, Ben Jones of Zipper Interactive went over some of the changes that will be made in the game based on user feedback.

Though we already knew that betas were put in place to test the game and get feedback, it’s always nice to hear of the changes being made to a game based on user feedback.
MAG releases exclusively on the PS3 on the 26th of this month. Do you plan on taking to the battlefield?
This game looks great.
Agreed. This video shows why MAG is different and shows that Zipper pays attention to the fans. They should be rewarded for that. Everyone go pick up MAG on Jan 26th to show your support for Zipper /Sony /PS3 exclusives. SVER FTW!
This game is a cool idea, but it just isn’t really any fun. Maybe its because my squad leaders always suck, or that the controls feel really stiff, or… something. I dunno. Pass.
i already preorder this, i think the beta was great a lot fun, great game.
I know this is an FPS but i really wished i could have at least had the option of going into 3rd person. but its all good thats just a gripe. Still I played the open beta a week or so ago. I can’t say I was overly impressed, but to be honest I think its because I was playing it as a lone wolf. And clearly this game shines more or rather you tend to build that unit cohesion when you play with a team. I’m thinking if you had a good core group of friends that were dedicated you would shine better and there for have more fun.
So in that respect I think that some people have the same outlook as me when they first test this game. They are going in it with that single/lone wolf mentality. But I will definitely pick this up, just because I loved Socom, and I think this has a great deal of potential if Zipper decides to stay on top of the issues.
I’m not really sure which faction I’ll choose but I’m definitely going to try and get a good group of friends to play along with me. That and find a good tactician as I think this game will truly shine when you have someone who knows how to lead correctly, and that your troops will follow.
Take it from me, being a military man for over 10yrs. This game hits the spot. I would agree however that the instance that it takes you to get back to the action when respawning might be a bit on the slow side but perhaps they’ll have a way to create more spawn points.
Day 1 for me…see you all there.
the beta has really surprised me in the fact that the game runs very smooth and is a lot of fun to play
AWESOME!!!
