As a PS3 gamer, you can’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction when you see that trophy icon pop up in the corner of the screen and hear that little ‘ding.’ They are fun, enjoyable, time consuming and add more value to the title you’re playing. The hardest trophies are geared towards people who thrive on challenge (or for people who are against buying ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie Game’ for an easy platinum, just to up your trophy level).
For all you hardcore trophy hunters out there, PSLS brings you our list of the Top 5 Most Difficult PS3 Trophies to obtain.
WipEout HD: Beat Zico (Gold Trophy)
Equal or beat the lap time of 30.82 seconds on Anulpha Pass (Forward), Speed Lap, Venom using the Piranha.
This trophy, to some, is utterly ridiculous. One would need to race this track absolutely flawlessly to beat Zico.
Call Of Duty World At War: Hardened War Hero (Gold Trophy)
Complete the game on Hardened or Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)
For those who have tried this, you must have a lot of broken controllers. This trophy requires you to battle grenades with every step. (Trophy Guide)
Super Stardust HD: Late Boomer (Silver Trophy)
Bomber – Get 15 bombs
They must have made this trophy just to piss gamers off. This trophy literally takes over a few hundred tries, if you are lucky. Only attainable by using the bombs you are trying to get, just to get more bombs. (Trophy Guide)
Bioshock: I Chose the Impossible (Gold Trophy)
Complete the game on Survivor difficulty without using a Vita-chamber
You thought life was fair? Try this trophy. You have to complete the game without continuing. The game does allow you to reload saved games, but you have to be extremely skillful and persistent to get this trophy.
Fight Night Round 4: XXL (Gold Trophy)
Win the heavyweight championship belt in online world championship mode.
This should be a platinum on its own. This is probably impossible to reach, unless you have the rest of your life to play a boxing game. To win the Heavyweight championship belt online, you have to be first place in the world. Since there are around 100,000 boxers online and growing, its would be nearly impossible to achieve this trophy.

Yeah, freakin PAIN and every darn SOCOM trophy. Those two game are zeros on almost everyone’s list of games
Trash Panic should definitely be on this list. Either way, nice list.
I can tell you that this list is very very very very wrong/flawed… the 15 bomb one i got first try, by accident…
and the bioshock one i got being cheap, if you save the little sisters you can get the big daddy skill and just use them to beat everything up to the final stage, which isnt too hard if you play smart, and the final boss is glitched if you run around him with a wrench you can easily kill him
some much harder trophies… *some i got, some i skiped, and some i know in passing*
3d dot game heroes “get every sword” basically you have to farm rare spawn monsters for white blocks, do EVERY event *many are missable* beat every mini game perfectly… and you have a shot at getting this 1 trophy *prior to the patch it wasnt common for one of the games to take 10 hours to perfect*
droplitz “Last 2 hours” most people cant do 20 mins
spelunker black “obtain every mural piece” its hard enough trying to memorize everything much less obtain every stupid hard to find piece…
ninja gaiden sigma 2 “beat every mission” i never heard of someone getting this trophy, and i guess the only people who did got it via a glitch *ive still yet to see it though*
battlefantasia “more or less anything” there is really nothing easy to do in this game… from doing the same attack at the same time… or getting a special event… or beating end of deathbringer without taking damage + avoiding his ultimate attack *you got to parry EVERY ATTACK* its a hard plat that i dont expect to see a lot of
demons souls “bladestone” get a item that drops at less than 1%… fun =\
disgaea 3 “10,000,000,000 damage/kill ___ pirate” basically you need a DLC character to do 1 of them… and even that requires items so powerful you spent hours making them perfectly… and the pirates randomly spawn in item world and the silvers come at such a slow rate it took me 20+ hours to kill em all =\
etc, most of those trophies arnt anywhere as hard as ssome of these
Bioshock “l choose the impossible” isn’t hard, it gets easier when get more plasmids and save often. What should have been on the list is Mirror’s Edge. The time trials on ME is ridiculous, if u make a single mistake you have to go back into the beginning in order to make it on time

Bioshock and COD shouldn’t be on that list for different.
Bioshock because it was easy. I played like 1 hour into the game trying to get that trophy, and I got bored. It wasn’t challenging at all to be honest.
COD:W@W should be on that list because it does not require skills, but pure luck. You need luck on your side to finish that game on Veteran because of all the grenades on screen at once. At any given time, there can be 5 to 10 grenades on your screen and you die.
I really think they Killzone 2 top 1% trophy should be number 1 because it was hell trying to get that trophy. I probable played about 12 hours a day for 7 days just to get that single trophy.
I would also put the Super Stardust HD 15 bombs trophy as number 1. The amount of skills, timing, and luck require to get that trophy is insane.

Bioshock wasn’t too bad. My problem was that I found myself constantly out of ammo and having to backtrack to early sections to farm for it.
Those speedruns in Mirror’s Edge; I haven’t been able to get past Chapter 2.

-In Killzone 2 on Elite difficulty, the Radec battle alone is harder than Call of Duty.
-The Bladestone trophy in Demon’s Souls is….I’m still having nightmares.
That one impossible Fight Night Round 4 trophie shouldn’t be that hard. Just wait years for people to barely play it anymore, and bam! You finally get the Platinum. Though you would need patience to wait so long for it
Replace the World at War Veteran trophy with the Classic Veteran trophy. So much harder. You literally have no health period.
Killzone 2…..Elite…..nuff said. And they meake you cry because they are actually GOOD A.I., not because they just spam grenades and have auto-headshots. That’s probably the #1 toughest trophy on PS3.
Agree with the wipeout hd trophey. The COD .WAW trophey tho is not that hard. Yeah aload of grenades get thrown at you but thats where the throwback button comes into play also the bioshock trophies hard but not one of the hardest because by doing research, buying more plasmids and backtracking to earlier big daddys to kill when your stronger the game gets easier.
I got the Beat Zico trophy ( actually I have a plat in WHD ) but it was really tough.
@ Mendax : ME Time Trials aren’t so hard if you have someone who done it on friends list. But even then it needs some skill.
As someone said beating KZ2 on Elite is really frustrating especially on the last chapter – autarch’s sanctum. There are few guys with RPG shooting at you like crazy and one good shot can kill you.
Maybe not tough but very annoying are two trophies in Resistance 2 : to kill 10.000 people in competitive and OMGWTFBBQ – to complete game on hardest. I completed it on normal, now I have to do it on hard to unlock the last one.
Also WHD trophy to complete whole campaign on Elite is really tough
With pure stubbornness, the W@W plat is quite easy! The most difficult trophy on that game by far was shooting down 45 enemy planes i thought!
I have to agree with those that say the KZ2 elite trophy is the hardest of all. I only need that to get the plat, and i dont even want to think of getting to that final Radec battle and pulling my hair and teeth out with utter frustration! Maybe one day when im really thinking about punishing myself for wrong-doings i’ll have a go lol.

I actually found the OMGWTFBBQ trophy to be not too hard. I completed R1 on superhuman without too much trouble, and R2 wasn’t much harder. There were certain sections which caused some trouble, but overall it was ok! But that 10k kill trophy… still working on that. It’s the last one I need, and I’m about 2/3k away, despite being top 3 on large games 90% of the time

Elite on Killzone 2 was definitely a challenge. As most people say, Radec at the end was horrific. Main problem there is Rico! On the balcony, I can pick helghast off easily, but suddenly I get shot in the back because Rico has died AGAIN. Soooo happy when I got that one
Aaaand PAIN trophies… Some were just invented to kill your soul I swear. I’m proud to say I have about 40/50% of those
I think Bad Blood from Resident evil 5 should be up there, not because it’s as hard as these ones but because it seems near impossibly and then it has the added shock of you realising THE TROPHEY IS A F**KING BRONZE!
some of the pixel junk monsters & the game before shooter are real doozies.
Nice to know I have three out of five on this list. Although I don’t think Bioshock was one of my most difficult. If you actually think out what you are doing on survivor and save a lot, you can do it rather easily. I’d have to nominate Demon’s Souls blade stone for this too. Although, If you have a friend who is kind enough to let you hold their +5 sharp whatever, the trophy willl pop for you too.
My top five hardest, not in order
1. COD: classic finishing on veteran. No health packs for the entire level. 3 shots max and you are dead.
2. COD: W@W finish on veteran
3. Late Boomer – obvious reasons
4. All seeds on Stage 7 and 10 in PJ Eden – just crazy. (combo fifteen and 100thousander weren’t exactly a walk in the park either)
5. Call me lame, but the challenge rooms in Batman. That was a well earned Plat after getting though the extreme stage where the floor electrifies.

I haven’t got the Bioshock “I chose the impossible”, but it’s not a difficult trophy, it’s just time consuming. There are many MANY more that are literally…. impossible without dedicating your life to the game-
what about Unreal Tournament 3? the online trophies are insane- “Play 500 hours”…
“kill 20 people a day for 20 days” or something like that. I just want extra challenges, not life changing events.

I disagree with the Bioshock one… I didn’t even know about the Vita Chambers on my first playthrough, didn’t need to equip it at all on Survivor, just had to try harder and use up all grenades.
Still, fighting those big daddies wasn’t easy, but I’ve had far more frustrating and challenging not to mention unfair ‘Hardest Mode’ trophies than this one!

I’ve obtained ALL of these trophies, Call of Duty 5: World at War platinum trophy is the HARDEST!
As you have to whole game in veteran/hardened, and if you did it the easy way (hardened), you’re in for punishment, as you gunna have to do EVERY SINGLE LEVEL in veteran, which is IMPOSSIBLE!

The plat for W@W isn’t impossible (you have the plat as do I, so impossible it isn’t). Granted, you have to play over n over again on veteran cos it is very hard indeed, but every enemy that kills you is just one more enemy you remember the location of and kill next time round (if your quick enough!). Storming the Reichstag was bloody hard tho! Infinite enemy respawn, and you have to lead the troops forward. Was just a question of timing the enemy kills and your runs correctly in the end.

wow the fight night trophy is fucking retarded stupid! online play is virtually impossible with quitters etc when you have to be ranked number 1.

NGS2 trophy is not hard.. the only hard part is beat every mission in master ninja difficulty (if an enemy grabs you its instant death) anyone that plays NGS2 should know how quick the enemies move to grab… it takes ALOT of dodging and very rarely blocking (enemies grab when blocking most the times)

Super Stardust HD doesn’t have a platinum though… And that bomb trophy is pretty easy anyway.
What about Guitar Hero Van Halen? It’s a niche game, so not everyone can do it, but even those who play it need to be amazing in their own right. Get 5 stars on every Van Halen song on Expert with ALL instruments??? Has anyone SEEN the note chart for Eruption? I was lucky to pass it with 3 stars, let alone 5.
I think Sony could produce actual data for this rather than -what we have here- opinion. Compare trophies aquired vs. game purchase volume. I’ll send a request into the PSN Blog.
