Ubisoft is apparently hard at work on the next Assassin’s Creed title already. They recently stated that it will feature none other than Ezio as the protagonist again in the upcoming title. Full details follow.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had this to say:
We have a new Assassin’s Creed that we expect will be a very high quality product that as well as an offline component will have a multiplayer component.
It is the same studios because it’s not only one studio creating the game, but an association of studios and they are working together to make it happen.
Another Ubisoft rep stated:
The game will take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin’s Creed 2.
If all this is true then the game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, which is who was behind Assassin’s Creed II. No word as of yet if this is in fact Assassin’s Creed III or some sort of spin-off of Assassin’s Creed II. Stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle for the details.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Ezio FTW!
Indeed Ezio is the man!
So with MP version how many “EZIO’s” in one plaza going for the kill? Some games just need online leaderboards and not online play.
I thought we were done with Ezio and moving on with Desmond’s story?
Guess I’m the one guy who isn’t happy about this news. How do you bring Ezio back?
Ezio’s new adventures are called “Assassin’s Creed II: Episodes” and will pick up the story where part two left off, much like Bloodlines did for Altaïr’s story. According to Ubisoft the Episodes will release sometime between March 2010 and April 2011. Assassin’s Creed III is still looking for an era and hero.
I hate Ezio. :S
Altair FTW!
I’d prefer they used someone new for the next Assassin’s creed so hopefully your right. Though why would anyone give a date range of a year and a month, there’s not confirmation, that’s a guess so if their not even certain when their going to be finished why bother trying to put a date?
In my opinion they should set Assassin’s Creed 3 should be set in 18th Feudal Japan around a female assassin and the fall of the samurai
@Timewarp
I’m pretty sure they know giving a rough date like that isn’t a confirmation, which is why they don’t say: It’s confirmed folks, on store shelves sometime next year…maybe! They obviously don’t have all the work done yet and don’t know how long it will take. It’s like if a repairman says pick your ps3 up in about a week. They don’t know the exact minute they’ll have it fixed, but it sure is nice of them to give you an idea.
