The biggest event in gaming two years ago was the release of Grand Theft Auto IV, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. However, the announcement of exclusive DLC for the Xbox crowd was disappointing for PlayStation’s followers. Fortunately, it seems Rockstar plans to make it up to PS3 owners.
On the official Rockstar blog, the developer answered some questions from some die-hard fans. In particular, this was the question that stood out to many.
“I was highly anticipating the release of The Ballad Of Gay Tony, but just found out that it is only on the XBox360. I am certain that I am not the first person to ask this, but how come it wasn’t released on the PS3?”
Instead of giving a plain ol’ response, Rockstar hinted at something promising this year.
“We know that it continues to be an often-asked question – and believe us, we understand the frustration of PS3 owners like yourself who haven’t been able to play any of our most recent releases. All we can say is that we at Rockstar promise to be very good to you with our releases in 2010. Please stay with us and stay tuned!”
Also, if you’re wondering about the PS3 exclusive (or not) L.A. Noire, Rockstar also shed a bit of light on that as well.
“There will be something great to see soon – a proper in-depth look at the game and why it is so ground breaking and innovative, both in terms of the game’s design and the amazing new technology to support it. Expect to see a long-awaited reveal via a big cover story next month.”

My hopes for Rockstar this year:
- Rerelease of certain GTA titles from PS2 /PSP on bluray format, better graphics and trophy support.
- More info on Agent
I`d hope for a new kind of open world game, with the must have coop mode and customization for every thing.
and More info on Agent
The new tec is most likely the ARC
I don’t know what it was exactly, but those blurbs just made me very Very excited. Pants tighteningly excited.
Can’t wait for the LA Noire info.
Me too JohnnyTruant5
I suppose info on LA Noire would be cool, I’d like to know more about the game.
As for the possibility of DLC for GTA4, I was a little let down by that game so not interested in the DLC.
VERY interested in what they have in store for us overall though. I wait with bated breath.
You know what? DLC would be lovely, but please could you take off the trophy restriction that limits the trophies to new saves. It just makes me now even want to freaking play that game because it just reminds me everytime that I’m gettin boned for no freakin reason when the could just make it open to accept old saves. FIx that for me and I don’t even care about the DLC. I can just go buy a cheap used 360 to play them before it breaks hopefully and then back to play the PS3′s exclusives that are revolutionary.
How about less talk from them and more action. And PLEASE Rockstar, don’t make another crappy like GTAIV. You guys took almost everything that was fun about the other GTA Games out of GTA IV.
Hopefully they’ll be bringing the DLC from the 360 to the PS3, or a whole different DLC for the PS3 or perhaps Bully 2 Exclusively on PS3.
I would hope that the bring the 360 DLC over, because it could get people to play GTAIV again meaning, another opportunity for me to claim some of those online trophies.
“and the amazing new technology to support it” motion controller?
well, just as long as its something different. Rockstar is a great dev, no doubt, but GTA4 was just a big rehash of what was already rehashed in GTA3 several times. Looking forward for this “new tech”.
I hope they didn’t just add 3D to it and call it groundbreaking…
also red dead is still on for april 27, so thats good.
I wanna hear about Agent from them. GTA series got old in my mind just cause its too played out these days. The whole GTA exclusives was pretty dumb but look at the company that got them, they’re pretty dumb themselves.
How many bets La Noire is the big thing that’ll make us supposedly feel all warm inside?
I’m sticking with Square Enix this year with two promised PS3 titles that’ll be great and a third that probably will come out this year.
Actually, Square-Enix already has three titles confirmed for the PS3 in 2010:
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIV
Star Ocean: The Last Hope International
As far as rumors, go, we may be getting an enhanced version of The Last Remnant.
And, we’re still waiting for the utterly mind-blowing Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
Plus, we all know Kingdom Hearts III, likely the best game of all time upon release, is secretly in development.
Square-Enix, you rock my world.
