300 Director Gives High ‘5ive’ for Video Game

Video games based upon movies are almost always of low quality, nearing the point of ‘cruel and unusual’ punishment for us game reviewers forced to play them.

But what about when a movie director tries his luck with video games?

Following in the footsteps of Steven Spielberg with Boom Blox and John Woo with Stranglehold, along with many others from the movie industry, Zack Snyder (director of 300, Dawn of the Dead and Watchmen) has just filed for a trademark pertaining to video games under his label Cruel and Unusual Films, Inc.

The trademark for the name 5ive covers the following:

Computer games, video games, electronic games, computer and video game software

Snyder had recently signed a deal with EA to develop 3 original games. However, due to recent studio cuts at EA, that deal may or may not produce any games.
