DJ Hero 2 Mixing Up Incredible Talent

01/24/2010 Written by Joseph Peterson

DJ Hero recently came out this past October. Many praised it for its differentiation from the already established Guitar Hero series, which revolutionized music games everywhere. FreeStyleGames seems to already be hard at work on the sequel to the original DJ Hero. They have already released some exciting news that will make many of the fans of the series very happy. Read on for all the details.

Chris Lee, the studio’s commercial boss, recently sat down and talked to CVG to discuss the future of the franchise. He had many things to say about the requests of the fans of the series. He was asked what the fans were asking for the most for the next title he had this to say:

We’re getting lots of requests for specific tracks and artists, so we’ll work hard to explore what we can do.

We’re already talking to some of the most incredible musicians on the planet about working together down the line, so who knows what the future holds?

He also states that there will be many new features implemented in the upcoming sequel, though no specifics:

As for new features, we’ve had a host of great ideas and requests. Way too many to mention.

So how many of you are looking for to this sequel? What are your thoughts on the upcoming title, and what would you like to see?

Some people think this is a dumb move from activision seeing as DJ Hero 1 didn’t sell very well but most of the people are just pissed that they can’t have Modern Warfare 3 let the COD fanboys bitch they’ve had their turn with the 2nd modern warfare and now it’s DJ Heroes turn, it’s the only music game I’m actually good at.

If anything not making DJ Hero 2 would be dumb as it would piss off people who bought the DJ Deck only to find they spent a heck load of money for one game, I’m looking forward to this already. Lono from SG even suggested they might have made a Ghostbusters 2 but dosen’t SONY own the rights to that.

  2. One thing they REALLY need to do is get more and better rap. Don’t have 50 cent have 1 song on twice, he is terrible get him off there. Whats holding me back from buying this is how much of the music is some 80′s song remixed with rap or daft punk.

It’s a damn shame that they have and will continue to pick the songs that are tied to big name artists, just because they are big name artists. I have not played DJ Hero 1 myself, but having just looked at the tracklisting, it is sorely disappointing how most songs are pop-influenced rap/r&b, and it just sucks.

There definitely needs to be more electronic music, other than daft punk. How many god damn times do they have to put daft punk on there? Only other EDM artist I saw was benny benassi and tiesto (on the same damn song) and they’re just big name artists too… The fact that david guetta, a electro/house artist, will be participating heavily in the development of DJH2 is no reassurance since he is the dj that is trying the hardest to move into the american market with all his remixes of US pop/rap songs. Horrible. I know many will claim this is for the US market and I understand that, but more respect needs to be shown to the electronic music scene as it is becoming huge in the US and has already pretty much impacted Europe (if I’m not mistaken).

    /rant.

  4. Personally I liked the first one. I just hope they incorporate more different artists or styles. Bye styles I mean adding metal, country (maybe?), or something else. More Daft Punk couldn’t hurt either.
