DICE has confirmed that it is “doing a lot of things in the background” that are aimed “towards creating the next big Battlefield product.” DICE has confirmed it is working on more Battlefield alongside the intriguing Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2′s Executive Producer Patrick Bach has confirmed to GamerZines that the developers are aiming towards creating a new Battlefield title:
In the background we’re doing a lot of things that I can’t talk about that are aiming towards creating the next big Battlefield product.
The title, most likely to be Battlefield 3, is discussed by EA COO John Pleasants.
I’ve had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE over in Sweden. I was highly impressed by the way the people were working on that product. That’s not for this fiscal year ending March 31, 2010, but that is a product that is looking very good.
The highly anticipated shooter arrives on March 2 in North America and March 5 in Europe, across multiple formats.
I just hope they put enough attention into Bad Company 2 to make it as great as possible before they started putting too much into the next one…I can’t wait to blow up more fools trying to hide behind walls though!!
is it me or is it kinda messed up when they’re working on the 3rd before the 2nd is even released?
Sony started working on the forth PlayStation before the third was finished, so… no, it’s actually common to start laying groundwork on a “next” product before the current one is released. especially when it’s a big franchise. i can understand consumers being concerned with this practice, but i wouldn’t worry about this one. = )
