Critter Crunch Chewing on New Patch

01/29/2010 Written by Cameron Teague

Since releasing on the PlayStation Network last year, Critter Crunch has quickly become one of the most loved games on the platform, with a recent price drop to $3.49, there really is no better value on the PlayStation Store.  To add more to that ever growing value, the game is going to be receiving a patch tomorrow to fix and improve an already great experience.  Check out the full details of the patch below

Fixes

  • No more annoying audio glitch
  • No more Wins/Losses upload issues when the server is in ‘maintenance’ mode**
  • Player score for Challenge levels now correctly handled in ALL cases
  • “Barf Success” icon now shows up correctly in ALL cases
  • “King of the Jungle” Trophy now successfully unlocks correctly even with a score of 0

Tweaks

  • Player feedback regarding DIFFICULT LEVELS has been taken to heart. Tough levels got a little less insane!
  • Coop networking tweaks to decrease pesky lag
  • Multiplayer “Disconnects” are now awarded more accurately
  • Catching a jewel while feeding glorious vomit to your son will no longer interrupt you
  • Your rank will now be retrieved more reliably when playing Adventure

Additions

  • XMB Audio support
  • language select available for all!
  • You get a little XP even if you lose in multiplayer

So will added features and a low low price, will anyone late to the party be picking this up?  For our opinions on the game, check out the review.

this game was so hard at the later levels that I just stopped playing out of frustration,
glad to see they realized that.

  2. I got 100% on this game, love it. I hope they launch DLC in the near future, I´d love to play more puzzles.

I think making the harder levels easier, is a terrible move. those levels are hard and require multiple, multiple, multiple tries but, they are attainable. There were definitely times I thought I would never beat the adventure mode, but I beat it after a few weeks or maybe a month or three. what’s fun about only being challenged by a game for a few days. COD:WAW on veteran is more difficult than those later levels on critter crunch.

“Player feedback regarding DIFFICULT LEVELS has been taken to heart. Tough levels got a little less insane!” What? Why do companies do this? Yes it was hard, but it is still completely obtainable. I am by no means an expert gamer. I’d rate myself average, or maybe a bit above average. Yes the later levels were hard, but they were not impossible. I don’t see COD:WAW making a patch any time soon to help me out with Veteran mode. This is bullshit. Some people are good at FPS, and some are good at Puzzles. Leave the difficulty alone.

Oh, and weren’t there some article around here (PSLS) where Capybara Games was bitching and complaining that they were disappointed in sales and that they were missing there targets? I guess their targets were estimated too high. I mean, why patch a game that isn’t making any money? I guess it can’t be that bad eh Capybara Games?

I appreciate the updates (I know it is hard to tell), but quit your bitchin’!

I never found it that hard….one of the better PSN games I bought last year though.

I’m not there yet, Can’t wait to hate this….
