Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 is without a doubt riddled with glitches and hacks, users being at 10th prestige in the matter of 3 seconds says it all. The 1.08 version patch has been released, but the latest patch may not actually fix problems for the shooter but cause more issues.
The Modern Warfare 2 1.08 patch is now live on the PlayStation Network.
The list of fixes include:
Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
• Fix for “infinite care package” exploit.
• Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
• Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
• Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and ‘elevators’.
• Fixes to prevent various XP hacks.
The patch is reportedly causing more issues for gamers as Robert Bowling tweeted:
However, we are aware of several users reporting freezes once connected to games. We are currently working with SONY to identify the source of this issue.

Downloaded it, joined Team Deathmatch, BOOM! Infinite Carepackage glitch on the other team! First time I had ever seen it happen too. I thought a patch was supposed to fix things?

The patch fixed one infinite care package glitch, there’s already another one like smokey_vols said. I tested it to see if it did, and it does. I am not a glitcher, I was just trying it out.

I really enjoyed cod4 at first when the ps3 still cost $700 and 99% of users were mature enough to just play the game and not even look for glitches , then these immature idiots took over and glitchers ruined the game .
I never even considered buying modern warfare 2 because I knew infinity ward would release another buggy game but didn’t think it would be as bad as it is , seriously these glitches are idiotic . what’s the point in getting 10th prestige right away and not working at it ? that’s no different then getting a high school diploma first day of kindergarten – you still haven’t learned anything and everyone knows you’re a poser – these people must have self esteem issues and no actual friends to need this fake rank in game to feel good . you rob yourselves of the entire game experience to cheat your way through it .
I guess that the mag and bad company 2 developers love it though because it can only drive more players away from mw2 and future iw games .

wow…maybe Activision and Infinity Ward need to think about beta testing their next “masterpiece” before torturing the rest of the world with it’s bugs and glitches
by the way…thank God I have MAG to satisfy my FPS multiplayer fix

This is why I did not purchase MW2 there was no public beta testing. They just reused old code and dolled it up to work with Multiplatform and Nextgen consoles. And the one demo that was on PSN for CoD: WaW was so limiting as far as movement in the Battlefield that I know that any CoD title would be the same.
Plus MAG is so much more stable and although no software code can be glitch or hack free at least they saw the problems that occurred with their SOCom series and found fixes to code around those. But one did comeback, the sliding dead man was one I saw for my self, but being in the Beta they had a chance to fix it.

Why do I have the feeling that someone rushed their game to the market? Don’t get me wrong, the game is awesome, it just sounds like Activision and IF could have spent a couple more months working out the bugs. Oh well..this trend isn’t going to stop anytime soon. :/

I’m so glad the PSLS enlightened are switching to MAG. It’s an amazing experience.

Someone wanna give me a short explanation of the infinite care package glitch?
January 31st, 2010 at 1:42 PM
Sure. Basically you get a care package, sentry gun, or emergency airdrop. You then do the glitch. Then you throw your marker and use one of the care packages and you will have another marker. And you can keep doing it over and over. One sabotage game I joined halfway through and I shot down 9 helis, pavelows, and chopper gunners, 3 harriers, and then they had an ac130 and about 20 sentry guns around where they were dropping the packages. Very cheap but I did get a lot of the cold blooded perk done atleast lol.

So wish they could indentify these ‘glitcher’ idiots and ban them from psn 100% for EVERRRRR… lol
