Dante’s Inferno Blazing DLC isn’t PS3 Exclusive

01/31/2010 Written by The Great Thomasio

EA and Visceral Games announced in December that Dante’s Inferno on the PS3 would be getting the ‘Divine Edition’ for FREE when purchased. The Dark Forest DLC, a prequel to the game, which comes with the Divine Edition, was originally thought to be a PS3 Exclusive DLC mission, but this isn’t the case. Even though it isn’t exclusive we still have some good news for PS3 owners.

During a ‘Round Table’ discussion with VG247, Executive Producer of Dante’s Inferno,  Jonathan Knight let the cat out of the bag and revealed that the DLC would be hitting both the PS3 and 360 in March. Bummer, right? Thankfully, PS3 owners will have the edge. It’s going to cost you the amazing price of FREE! See? PS3 owners win.

My question is, for those of you who’ve played both the God of War series and the Dante’s Inferno demo, will you be buying the game?

Dante’s Inferno hits on February 9th. Or you could just wait until March 16th for God of War III. Either way…gamers win!

Good, DLC exclusivity sucks, no matter who is affected.

No absolutely Not. I may rent this, or play it just for trophies if one of my friends makes the poor choice in buying it, but I played the demo, I know what a blatant rip off looks like, and how far removed they are from the actual divine comedy. I thought the game had a great concept, but something went wrong when they all decided to abandon any creative input and just “secretly” be inspired by a little known game about greek gods.

  4. renting this and buying gow

I’m glad it’s coming to the 360 to be honest, bringing exclusive DLC to the PS3 for a multiformat title would only serve to sink to microsoft’s level.

  6. I had intentions to purchase Dante’s Inferno (Or well, ask my Wife for it for V-Day, LOL) but I recently changed my mind. Sorry! I’ll just wait for God of War III. Heavy Rain and Final Fantasy XIII will hold me over until then.

That makes more sense to me senor Williams.

I’m glad it’s not exclusive either, I never planned on buying this obvious GoW clone anyway. And if I were, it’d be for my PC, anyway.

I’m definitely renting Dante’s Inferno and buying God of War III. I played the demo for Dante’s Inferno and loved it but unfortunately games like this don’t have a lot of replay value for me, even God of War takes me a long time before I want to replay it though I loved every game in the series immensely. I’m buying God of War III because I feel like it’s just one of those games you need to have and keep in your collection…Though I probably would have bought both if there weren’t so many other games I want coming out like Heavy Rain and MLB 10 The Show.

Back to the DLC…I never assumed it would be entirely exclusive to PS3 just that we would either get it first or for free, which is obviously the case. I guess I just figure unless it comes out of Sony or Microsoft studios nothing is really exclusive forever these days.

People want this game? I think Penny Arcade summed it up best for me:

    hello …

the game looks like GOW (the demo had a level that’s exactly like 1 in GOW2, same puzzle), but i kinda like it for the other story.

I already have God of War 1 & 2 on PS2, i just got myself the GOW Collection & will certainly get God of War III, but i’m also treating myself with Dante’s Inferno, along Heavy Rain, it’s another Special Edition i pre-ordered for February.

    cheers!

To answer the question, I will be buying DI in addition to GOW3.

I;’ve played Darksiders and Bayonetta so far and will certainly play DI and GOW3, I just love that type of game. Although There is only one God of War.
