The Final Fantasy XIII 360 back cover confirms that downloadable content exists. Although this is the 360 box, it would lead one to believe that the PS3 will inevitably get a slice of some DLC action.
The back of the 360 version reveals a “game content download” caption on it. The cover can be seen below.
The producer of the RPG Yoshinori Kitase recently spoke about future plans for DLC:
We initially had doubts to add extra content to the western version but then it would have taken the international version more months of delay. We did prepare a DLC but it will arrive a little later in the west.
Final Fantasy XIII is slated for a Western blockbuster release on March 9, 2010. The RPG is already out in Japan. Stay tuned in to PlayStation LifeStyle as we’ll keep you up to date regarding the DLC.
sigh~ is news that slow?
the game has DLC enabled but that doesnt mean it will be done
I’m sure it will be something like alternative costumes or a mission mode of some sort.
^ there are 64 missions in the game =P if anything it would be new monsters but i doubt that because they would have to be lower tier than 64 since the more powerful monsters take forever to kill and are quite over powered
That’s good to know!
I wasn’t sure since I’ve been trying to keep myself from spoiling the game like I have with a few in the past. While most people look at FFX-2 as a black sheep for the franchise, it really did have great concepts gameplay wise and a solid mission based system that really made the game quite enjoyable, despite the boring story and massage minigame.
@hongo
can you imagine if SE sell FF7 costume for use in FF13?
@ hongo
i know how it goes, i didnt know anything about XIII before i played it *i got the plat btw* but yeah
I think I heard that PS3 not getting that DLC since the Blu-Ray Disc will have it on the disc when it ships. Who your daddy now M$, DVD has limited capacity…
You know this was done because the XBox 360 version already had 3 discs for the game. I bet if it had been released solely for the PS3, this DLC wouldn’t have even been released. Let’s keep it real.
So since when do we take the GAMESTOP boxes to be the actual boxes for the game? That’s just amazing there…I know for a fact that the box will no look EXACTLY like the GAMESTOP boxes that they put out to lure potential buyers. WEAKSAUCE!
Somehow the idea of paying for extra content for a game that’s had “an entire game’s worth” of content removed just sort of makes me nauseous.
lol I’m staying out of this debate this time
… it doesn’t mean it’s not true, Matthew.
