Developer Rebellion has created a game which will undoubtedly deliver a multiplayer experience like never before. The demo for Aliens Vs. Predator gives you just that, but contains some issues regarding match-making. Sega recently gave their position on the problem.
A SEGA spokesperson told a source that they are currently working on fixes for the PlayStation 3 version of the demo:
Since our earlier update regarding successful patching of the PC demo of AvP, we’ve been working with Sony and SEGA on investigating reports of a similar issue from some PS3 owners.
Tests so far have shown a significant improvement, but we’re not yet finished with the fixes. The team will be working over the weekend to make it even better for players.
Learn how to survive the AvP demo multiplayer experience with this tutorial video below:
Aliens vs. Predator arrives on February 16 for North America and February 19 for Europe. The demo is live on the PlayStation Store.

totally disappointed in this.. canceled my pre-order.. not a good sign at all

Oh well, better it happens in the demo than in the full game.
I managed to play two rounds and it was not great, not mediocre, just ok. I won’t buy it but I’ll definitely rent it.

I was really surprised when I started to hear how many people were really looking forward to this game. As soon as I saw it I thought it was a cool concept, delivering three different perspectives, but I thought it would be a disappointment because they will just be trying to cash in on the AvP name and not be concerned with making it a really great game. Sounds to me like I might have been right. I just don’t trust games that are based off of movie franchises, even if they aren’t releasing side-by-side with a movie.

you know a game sucks when there’s issues with the demo. I’ll proberly rent this as well but I have the unfortunate disadvantage of living nowhere near a blockbusters or area where you can rent computer games, if I could I would just use them to rent my games.

yea it is a bad sign when the demo needs a patch to work properly.

I’m not scared, I’ll still rent the game and try it. I think the multiplayer sounds great and I cant wait.

I can’t believe anyone thought this game would be great. It’s being made by Rebellion (the great people behind Rogue Warrior and ShellShock 2) and it always seemed to me that Sega held back the much better Aliens: Colonial Marines to release this trash since the two really wouldn’t compare.
I put a lot more faith in Gearbox Software and their Aliens game then I do in Rebellion.
I guess it shows in the end that many gamers are like Wii owners, buying trash with a fancy photo on the front. People obviously have too much money and not enough time to do any research.
Spend some time in a game store watching people buy and see what I mean.

What a wonderful family game this demo has proven to be. Whilst waiting “for 7, 6, 5, 4… player(s) I have been able to spend so much quality time with my wife and daughter. This isn’t even a joke. With the facehugger floating around on our living room t.v., the three of us and a few of my daughter’s friends had a huge Naruto tournament on our PSPs, then changed over to Trivial Pursuit.. A t the end of the evening,The friends went home and we threw in Aliens… the movie, oh, and I never joined a room. Thank you Rebellion, for helping a family night become a great success.

Wow a patch is already needed for the ps3 version and it’s only the demo, hate to see what the full game will need, what a joke. PASS……

REALLY!!!!????? All of you people think that because of it being a demo, there shouldn’t be any problems????? Thats like saying a beta should be flawless, give me a damn break. I know you people b****ed about MW2 and how it’s issues could have been solved with a demo, but now you’re s***ting on games that DO have a demo and find problems. THIS IS EVEN THE SAME PROBLEM AS MW2!!!!! They just didn’t expect so many people to be interested in the demo, it’s a server issue the game is fine. You people forgot what a demo was for in the span of a couple months! Give these guys a break, the full game WILL be better, demos are based on older code, and whatever other problems there are can be ironed out BECAUSE IT’S JUST A DEMO. Christ.

@Johnnytyrant5
There’s certain things that shouldn’t go wrong, if their using this server it obviously isn’t big enough so they obviously haven’t got a good server. A demo isn’t a full representation but it’s certainly a taster of what the game will be like,
They made the demo to make people like the game, you know like the game. If someone’s handing out little tasters of food outside their resturant, if it taste bad I’m not going into the resturant in fact I’d be even more put off if they said “Oh don’t worry this is before we brought in better ingrediants”

@giese095
Based on a movie franchis? Apparently AvP didn’t exist until the movies. There wasn’t a series the movies were very loosely based on/inspired by and there definitely weren’t AvP games, one of which totally wasn’t made by Rebellion, way before there were AvP movies.
