PixelJunk Shooter 2 Confirmed by Q Games
It looks as though we won’t have to wait any longer to hear what the next PixelJunk title will be. The next title has been surprisingly revealed as the first direct sequel to any PixelJunk title.
The head of Q Games, developer of the PixelJunk series, Dylan Cuthbert, has announced that PixelJunk Shooter 2 is indeed in development.
“Normally sequels are just a re-hashing of the ideas in the original, but for PixelJunk Shooter we still have a ton of ideas on the drawing board and the engine has lots of potential we want to use before moving onto our next idea. It would be a waste not to use it to try out more stuff.”
“We managed to put in all the ship ’suits’ that we thought up this time around but there will be a number of new suits to make use of some of the brand new ideas for fluid gimmicks you may or may not see sometime soon.”
It was also confirmed that another title is in development alongside PixelJunk Shooter 2, however, that title has not yet been revealed. You can check out our review of PixelJunk Shooter here.

it seems to me that as long as it uses the same engine this could just be an expansion pack, it wouldn’t have to be a sequel…but that’s just me wanting it to cost less than buying a new game even though it is worth the price.

Surprisingly? They already hinted at this around the time the game released, and anyone who actually played the game to the end would assume as much anyway.

I bet they’ll release a bundle (not that it’s goign to grace PSN’s shelf anytime soon), and i can pick up 1 and 2 together. Works for me, since tomorrow starts the beginning of the video game utopia.

That’s pretty cool and i’ll definately get it, but why didn’t they make some DLC for Pixel Junk Shooter? Add some new worlds, throw in a few suits. I dunno, just thought that would’ve been a good candidate for some awesome DLC.

yea,,, I kinda though after beating it that the rest was coming in a DLC pack, which seemed a bit gimmicky. This game was great though, I just hope this sequel is longer than the original.
Edit: any word on a time frame for release?
