Last week’s Aliens vs Predator mutliplayer demo brought with it a slew of problems for PS3 owners. The issues generally dealt with matchmaking and getting into games. With the PC version also experiencing similar bugs, Rebellion recently apologized for the issues, and promised to deal with them.
What’s strange about this issue is that the Xbox 360 demo has had very little complaints. In any case, the following is Rebellion’s official response and apology for this issue.
The full game features the ability to browse for and create games but for the purposes of simplicity the demo was limited to matchmaking, alongside the ability to set up groups with friends which mitigated yesterday’s issues for many.
We’re really sorry that this issue tainted a day in which we saw many people get hands-on with AVP for the first time and we’re hugely gratified by the positive feedback to the game.
For now, it seems like the best solution for PC or PS3 owners is to create local games; avoiding matchmaking all together. The game hits store shelves

You’re damn right you’re sorry! I didnt play it but i accept your appology
Looks like another 360 port that fails to live up the the multi-platform standard of equality.
Yeah isn’t that a nice coincidence that the 360 demo works and the ps3 demo doesn’t.. It looks like Microsoft took out Rebellion to dinner! Hope you got the lobster! haha
Did anyone really think this was going to be a good game anyway? The one that GearBox is doing has a chance but this one is terrible.
………… umm. sorry canceled my pre order already because of the demo. This WAS my most anticipated game. games aren’t cheap these days. so I will pass.. I was able to get into 1 game on the demo, and from what i saw i was not impressed all. Graphics seemed like crap, game play seemed to be crap (yes i only played one game, i know) but all in all the demo left a BAD taste in my mouth. If the demo couldn’t be tested before release, I can imagine how many problems or bugs will surface with the full release. .. hope I am wrong because like I said I was REALLY looking forward to this… maybe after the game gets patched 3 or 4 times i will give it a go… Getting tired of games not delivering @ $59.99 a piece when released. . push out crap on time, then worry bout fixes later seems to be the way things go now. getting old with me so I am being more cautious with my future game purchases. .. and one more thing… this IS Rebellion…. no confidence in that company at all. I do gotta laugh at this though.

yeah like I got 8 PS3′s on my network.. LMFAO! again this is Rebellion were suppose to trust…
The article ends in an odd way…
“The game hits store shelves” …. uhhh,,, when?
@SPD55 – exactly. WTF mate. O well…
“The game hits store shelves” – I thought that meant the game literally falls over and hits the shelf
as people reach for Heavy Rain, or GOW.

Talk about a demo fail!
Good thing I didn’t pre-order it on the base speculation by most people saying it’s gonna be amazing.
Think I’ll stick with Heavy Rain, God Of War 3 and GTA: Episodes from Liberty City when they come out.
l’ll rent this
SPD55 if i not mistaken the 360 also had the same issues in various other online game sites.
…i’d also be sorry if id made such a mess of a game lol!!!
I have a friend who is excited about this game, but at the same time he’s not all that knowledgeable on what else is coming out.
Oh boy I can see the reviews now. “But unlike the 360′s counterpart, the PS3 version is just plagued with this… that… this….”
Developers really need to focus more when they make both PS3 and PC versions. I heard making PS3′s version the lead platform solved the problem since porting from PS3 into PC and 360 will be easier, so why don’t devs just start doing this?
