Kratos to Take on Hercules in God of War III

02/12/2010 Written by Thomas Williams

Fans of the God of War series have always wondered, Will half-brothers Kratos and Hercules ever get the chance to battle one another? Stig Asmussen, Director of  God of War III has confirmed what everyone has been wondering: You will indeed be able to kick Hercules’ whiny ass all over Mount Olympus in God of War III.

Speaking with the Official PlayStation Magazine UK Edition, Stig spoke about how the long-requested battle will be different than what you will be expecting.

Setting up the personality between Kratos and Hercules-like, Hercules is the jilted brother who feels the gods have abandoned him and made Kratos the star. It’s completely away from how you’d expect Hercules to be. And the same is true for any of our fights.

It’s even rumored that the way you acquire the Cestus gloves is by beating Hercules. Sweetness!

The only bad news? Stig wouldn’t confirm nor deny if the Nutty Professor’s Mom will be there to cheer on Hercules or not. Just skip to 2:53 and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Unless the world ends between now and March, God of War III lands on March 16th. Make sure you don’t miss it…or you just might have Kratos on your doorstep wondering why you didn’t buy his game.

  1. I though in GoW II Kratos being called the son of Zeus was used as a metaphor…not literally speaking his son

humm, i’m a fan of Hercules, but i’m much a fan of Kratos, OK can’t get everything, Hercules dies!

Very interesting, had not thought about their encounter. The fight will be epic! But what if you ally with Hercules after you defeat him to kill Zues. Or had the choice to kill him or let him live. Now that would be interesting game-play.

    @NoctisLucisCa

In one of the bonus vids on GoW2 it explains how zeus is the father of kratos…….

On Topic: The Hercules fight will be epic no doubt, but what i’m interested in the most is that mysterious little brother of kratos who’s sitting in hades plotting his revenge……..

Damn!, GoW3 is shaping up to be completely bad ass to that max!

it actually explains it in the 1st GoW game when you beat it on God mode and go to the features to see a mini story of it.

On topic l never thought l would see Hercules in a GoW game even though l thought about it a lot. l’m glad he’s in the game

Good call dude, I always get ‘em mixed up…….what do u think about the bonus vid on kratos’s little bro?

it seems like he’s due to make an appearance in gow3, I think he’ll be the final boss….

    doesnt matter. bring it on!

Hercules VS Kratos? You know what would be EPIC if Hercules is actually giving Kratos a run for his money and you get to the point in the fight where it is Hercules trying to decapitate Kratos and you have to punch in the quick time buttons to prevent Hercules from killing you. Kind of like reversing the roles of the quick time button commands, where instead of you pressing certain buttons that pop up on screen to kill bosses and decapitate them, you rather, press buttons on screen to prevent Hercules from doing it to Katros. Wouldn’t that be badass guys?

  11. @Xael
Yeah that would be badass! They should totally change the “press X to kill” to “press X not to die”, that would make things more fun!!!! you would die alot more!!1!1!EPPPPIIIICCCC!!!
