EA and DICE are looking to change the shooting genre to the Battlefield way with Bad Company 2. The shooter to feature compelling visuals and a online component dubbed to be better than MW2′s. But even after all of this, the devs believe the next Battlefield can do better on consoles.
In an interview with 9Lives, senior producer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Patrick Bach, reveals the shooter can do better.
It depends of course from when the new generation of game consoles on the market, but we have no information at DICE. Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I see we have a better game to make the current generation of game consoles, because I think we can find new ways to a title even more impressive technically than to Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
The shooter’s preview exceeded 2 million downloads and is on course to become the fastest downloaded demo in EA history. Bad Company 2 arrives on March 2 in North America and March 5 in Europe.
And here it comes.. multiple Cod imitations
CoD imitations?? Why would anyone try to imitate CoD when it would be so easy to make a much better game. There were almost no improvements from the original Modern Warfare to Modern Warfare 2 and MW2 released with an insane amount of bugs. No one is trying to imitate CoD, they are trying to replace it with something much better. Not to mention the gameplay style of Bad Company 2 is much more tactics and squad based rather than just everyone running around like a chicken with its head cut off shooting at everything.
@fox007….you do realize that the COD community and BBC community are complete opposites? Have you ever played BBC? its nothing like COD and their goal is to best the COD community and vice versa. In other words if you play BBC you hate COD, if you play COD you hate BBC (the majority of the community that is) BBC is about your options in battle like flying and using mortars, COD is about noob toobs and camping. END.
Don’t like the controls, not smooth like duty! Everything else is great, graphics and destruction.
CoD imitation? lmao.
I have Bad Company 1, and Modern Warfare 2, and picking up Bad Company 2 when it drops.
Hell I’d rather play BC1 over MW2 any day. What type of depth does CoD offer in comparison to BBC where being strategic and tactical is actually important rather than camping and getting your perks? Its almost as if MW2 purposely designed their game to make everyone a little happy rather than making the fans of the genre really, really happy. Sellouts, MW1 = MW2 < BC1.

call of duty clones ? isn’t the entire call of duty series just a medal of honor clone anyway ? I’m pretty sure the whole fps war themed games all started with medal of honor and all call of duty did was maybe refine the controls a bit and add to the online component with perks and killstreaks —- the battlefield games added everything that was missing to the battle , things that would be there in an actual war — tanks , fixed gun emplacements , aircraft , jeeps etc. , real time damage to the environment , and most important teamwork and strategy . like has been said already not everyone likes to just run around shooting and throwing grenades , real warfare ( modern or not ) isn’t like that – you need to plan your attacks , work together and then can have a hope of winning .
