EA Cans Online Support For Several More Titles

If you’re particularly fond of playing online with several older EA titles, you may want to get in as much online time as you can before March 16th, because that’s when EA will be slamming the door on online support for many of its titles.
The following titles will have their online support pulled across select platforms:
- Def Jam ICON – PS3 and Xbox 360
- The Godfather – PS3 and Xbox 360
- The Simpsons Game – PS3 and Xbox 360
- The Lord of the Rings: Conquest – PC, PS3 and Xbox 360
- Mercenaries 2 – PC
- NFS ProStreet – PSP
- NFS Carbon – PSP
Given the overall review scores for some of the titles listed above, I doubt there are any particularly large groups being affected by this, but if you’re one of the select few, brace yourself!

No one must play Lord of the Rings Conquest because that isn’t all that old. None of these affect me in any way.
makes alot of these games worthless now.. LOTRC was pretty much all online.. oh well doesnt effect me here
So what happens to the trophies you can only get online? I guess some people are SOL

I have always felt that games that have online trophies/achievements should have a patch if the servers go offline enabling them since players can no longer earn them.
This is why online trophies are a pain because if they pull the plug or if the game has zero people playing online (looking at you FEAR2) then you can’t get those trophies.
Yeah I’m pissed because my LOTR online trophies I will never get now. There was never enough people in the beginning and I was going to try and schedule time with other people that need them but now they are shutting down support. Blah. This sucks.
This is why I hate the online trophies, Killzone 2 had one for being the best player of the week so when you have tons of obsessed retards spending all their time on Killzone 2 because they clearly have no life how the f**k do you outbeat them?
It’s just impossibly, there should be a patch to make it for a match and not a entire week of gaming as some of us don’t have that amount of time to put into a video game.
That is true too. I will NEVER get that KZ2 trophy even though I love the game.
Gotta end at some point i guess doesnt effect me but the online trophies being ‘imposs’ is a pain….

Simpsons had online support? Can’t they patch these games so that users could act as a host, thus no longer requiring support from EA? I don’t actually care, I don’t own any of these, but still… it seems dumb.
Actually Timewarp that trophy is for being in the top 1% for the week. So when you have “tons of people” playing, then more people will qualify for the top 1%. It would be harder to get the trophy with less people playing.

really? Cool I looked at the trophey and thought they meant the best person out of everyone, meh still hard but at least it’s not as hard as I thought it was.
just wanted to note, the guy in the picture’s a moron, that plug will never fit that socket! ^_^
@Timewarp – it makes sense, often times it seems like EA doesn’t have their plug in the right socket, if any. (does that make sense, or did I just try too hard?)
I just started and finished all the online LOTR:Conquest MP trophies last night. It took 4 hours, and a good boosting partner, but it was very manageable. Just need all the offline trophies now.
