Last year, developers The Behemoth created a fun and addictive game with an unmissable online experience exclusively for Xbox Live. The stylish side-scroller, Castle Crashers, created a loyal following with the XBLA game exceeding 1 million downloads. This success inevitably lead to the colorful title finding it’s way to the PSN. Recently the developers have given a status report that does reveal a general release time frame.
The Behemoth has reported to PAH that Castle Crashers will make a crash landing on the PlayStation Network later this year. Fans will also be delighted to know the game’s development has come a long way since its debut at last year’s Comic-Con.
Castle Crashers for PS3 is coming along really well. We still don’t have a firm release date as so much depends on how testing and certification go. But the game is in great shape and we are still confident it will release this year.
Castle Crashers delivers a thrilling experience for all gamers. The addictive and robust 4-player co-op mode will keep gamers entertained for hours. Stay tuned on to PlayStation LifeStyle for all the latest news on the PS3.
come on isnt this kinda depressing… i mean the game is done *xbox side* i doubt it will take a TON of work its not even march and they cant confirm it will be out this year =\
…
i played this game for hours on my roommates xbox… it IS a lot of fun for the first few hours but afterwards it gets old, old, olddd
So when its coming out? I love to play it on PS3 but hopefully the wait isn’t that long.
@ Psmgamer: It hasn’t been announced what the exact releae date is, but probably just before this fall. We’ll keep you updated for any release date, so stay tuned to PSLS.
They are adding new content to it as well, victorinox, to add to the transition time.
Man, sure has taken long enough for a Live Arcade game to be ported over. I played it on the 360 and it was major fun!! The longer they wait less and less people care. I can already imagine the out cry peeps are going to have when they announce it for $15.
I might get this.
yeah, I’m probab;y not going to pick it up if it’s retailing for the same price as it did when it debuted on the 360.
That’s Terrible. They originally said it would be out early this year. Now they’re Just confident it will release this calendar year? Its just a side scroller.
By testing and certification they may be saying “we actually have to wait for the Microsoft exclusivity deal to run out. We got paid for that, we’ll just have to wait.”
I have no idea how much Microsoft pays for their exclusives, but I guess it’s in the order of tens of millions for games like Mass Effect, Fable etc. since those games could also sell like crazy on the PS3.
Hopefully, it’ll land on the PS3 with more content than it had on the XBOX. Just like NinjaGaiden Sigma.
Any guesses as to how much they paid Castle Crashers’ developers?
