Heavy Rain is an Online Sales Rainmaker
The very soon to be released murder mystery phenomenon from Quantic Dream, Heavy Rain, has been and still is climbing the charts in numerous countries. The PlayStation 3 exclusive has been sprinkling rain all over the US Amazon charts; enjoying first position for two consectuive weeks. But how has the Origami Killer been doing on online retailers other then America?
Heavy Rain has been taking Europe by storm as Amazon France lists the special edition of the game at second, with Final Fantasy XIII for PS3 claiming first. Amazon Germany has it down for third (which may of been helped by this), at the heels of Bad Company 2. Amazon UK lists the thriller in third on their best seller list, trailing to Just Dance and Aliens Vs Predator. Play.com lists Heavy Rain as fourth just behind Brutal Legend which has recently received a price reduction, while ShopTo have listed the exclusive as first on the pre-order charts.
Amazon Japan has the game ranked on second place, just missing out on first which is occupied by the PS3 version of Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. Import specialists Play-Asia, has the thriller placed at first on their bestseller list.
Despite Heavy Rain being in at least the top 5 for countless continents, Quantic Dream’s cinematic masterpiece will undoubtedly rise ferociously upon release which is on February 23rd in the US, and February 26th in the UK. The exclusive has also been taking glory with an above average critics reception; be sure to check out PlayStation LifeStyle’s final verdict.

I got the game 2 days ago, to me, it’s one of the best games I ever played. I must say that I’m surprised (and happy!) to see the game enjoying the first position on several pre-order websites.
Heck yeah!! I hope all of the PS3 fans that bragged about this game actually back up their words and pick it up. It deserves the sales!! Innovation for the win!
Yeah no surprise here, I’ve been playing it since Wednesday and it’s amazing. The conflict, or action scenes have you at the edge of your seat.
Yeah, it’s been on the top of Amazon’s best sellers list for a couple week now. That and the PS3, FFXIII (PS3 version), GoW3, Mass Effect 2, Modern Warfare 2, etc. Nice to see actual games take up the top 10 spots rather than Fisher Price white plastic.

It’s great to see a game that is totally different form the usual stuff selling so well. I think it’s safe to predict that we’ll be seeing other developers turning out virtual clones of this game over the next few years.

I’m about to buy the game today. Guys is you are wondering how some people get it early, just try to locate the game are your local Mom and Pop shops, they break street dates all the time, and some places don’t even charge for tax. So not only do you get to play a game early but you could only be paying just straight $60 cash.
have to wait for amazon free shipping to arrive, usually friday, ugh.

Just curious but how did they get it that early. Do the stores get games that early in advance and have to wait till the official release date to sell?
Either way I’ve got it pre-ordered to be delivered tomorrow…oh yes I will be waiting right beside my window for the UPS driver lol. I haven’t been this excited since FF12.
I got it shipped from gamefly today, cant wait to play this game soon, the demo was good but left me a little unsure of how replayabilty beyond a 2nd playthru will be.

I have no idea how they get it that early, but they just do. Although my store won’t get it in till 5 or 6, meaning that I might just have to wait till tomorrow, since I will be in school then
