I would buy it but untill the prices go down, a cool feature would be 3D comapatible making it look like your in the game. Thats if it come out

Here’s what if like to see.
1. Bigger screen
2. GLASS touch screen (not the crappy unresponsive plastic thing like the DS has)
3. Dual analogs
4. Digital dist with the ability to buy games on SD cards at stores
5. Flip screen so it doesn’t get all scratched up as easy.
6. Online gameplay
7. Maybe tilt sensing
8. Upgradeable onboard memory + sd slot, not the duo memory sticks!

Put those things on there and I would buy day one!

Since the sales been PSP Go abysmal, there won’t be many unhappy people if the PSP 2 releases sometime this year.

But the chances of unhappy people increasing after the release for the PSP 2 would be because of:

5. No online matchups
4. No touchscreen.
3. No mobile phone capabilities( this includes no video recording camera @ 30 frames and no powerful enough processor & GPU)
2. No dual analog
1. NO worthwhile games(and no game sharing).

The PSP2 needs to do something revolutionary in order to be successful. First and foremost Sony needs to focus on creating GAMES. and not just another MGS thrown here. They need a library that’s on par or rivals the ds. I know it’s capable of playing movies, music etc, but it should excel at it’s primary focus before any of those extra features are even remotely appealing. Hopefully for Sony’s sake they’ve already realized this before releasing another platform. Quality content is king.

The PSP is a fantastic and way overlooked platform. I used to listen to people and agree and thought the PSP was garbage and then I took the plunge and got one. Long story short, I realized people have no idea what they are talking about. I would buy a PSP2 day one.

@spd55 I know the figures for the PSP Go have been abysmal, but the solution is not to release news of a new handheld less than a year after it’s release! Sony is in control of a monumental position right now. If they stop supporting digital dist., and it fizzles and they replace it with a cartridge based platform again, then the GO will be made an example of anytime anything else tries to go digital in the future.

However, if they support it right, and offer reasons for people to WANT to buy it, and feel compelled to only get their games digitally, they will have cornered a market they created, much like nintendo did with the gameboy and has continued to thrive off of.

In my opinion, Sony is trying to accomplish too much at once, and have never really focused their attention to making the psp become GREAT. We can all see the potential for what it could be, It’s just really frustrating to me to not see Sony take advantage of areas that the PSP was an original leader in.

With that in mind, I feel like if Sony cuts the support, or does a magician’s misdirection (“Hey look over here! don’t look in my left hand!”) to take attention away from shitty GO sales, and instead offers us a NEW handheld, it’s… not going to be good.
