Killzone 3 Could Support 3D & Motion Controls This Year

02/24/2010 Written by Zak Islam

Guerrilla Games’ PlayStation 3 blockbuster first-person shooter, Killzone 2, was smash hit with hardcore gamers and all the PlayStation 3 faithful; it was only a matter of time before rumors of a follow up hit the net. The most recent twist, involves Killzone 3 taking advantage of new PS3 technology this year, including both 3D and motion control.

Apparently, sources close to Sony Japan have informed Spanish publication GameProtv that the third game in the Killzone franchise will be adapted to work with Sony’s new motion-controller. Another tidbit is that Killzone 3 could be one of the many games to be released in 3D, a feature that is rumored to hit the PlayStation 3 very soon.

    I’d be interested in playing it with the motion controller, I enjoyed playing Metroid Prime 3 and that cod4 rehash on the Wii.

    well up for this in 3D. I just hope there is alot of support for 3D come june, when the panasonic plasmas arrive .

  3. Xael says:

    ooooh Panasonic Plasma 3D TV’s? That’s a match made in heaven. Anyway I will definately buy this game if it’s on 3D and support motion controls

  4. I’d love to see motion control support for this game… as long as it’s optional.

    I agree JasperLoons, this is definitely the type of game that Sony needs to support their motion control and 3D in order to sell all of those who are doubtful and think the motion control is just a gimmick for casual gamers. If they can make a hardcore shooter play amazingly with motion controls it would shut everyone up…as long as they still give you the option to use a regular control, which they will since they won’t be able to make everyone buy the new motion controllers.

    I can get a little excited about the motion control compatibility, just not the whole 3D thing. Never been able to watch more than 20min of a 3D movie without getting a massive headache, and I’m even less excited about it if I have to drop $150-$250 on a pair of 3D glasses so I don’t get a headache.

  7. Not sure how i feel about this, i guess I will hope for the best.

    this would def. be nice but killzone2 got repetitive after a while and didnt offer much of a challenge… the control scheme felt weird… id give killzone 3 2 thumbs down… motion control sounds nice and so does 3d.. .but they need to incorporate that into a better game :\

    Hopefully this doesnt mess the game up tho

    3D Will definitely make me want to buy a 3DTV however i do not want motion control for this. Ok so it my help sony showing off the arc but it isnt something i want killzone to be.

    @SpeCtR
    You could always have went into options and adjust the control sensitive, that helped me out.

    This 3D fad felt played out to me back in the 80s, motion control could be coo, but alright if done right. All I know is that it should be available for playing with controller and 3D turned off because those 3D HDtvs are thousands of dollars and normal consumers gonna pass on a great game because of the price range. Or will have a Vizio 3D tv that will function but the first few cheap alternative will be lackluster or faulty to some degree. And it will stitll be in the 700 to 1,000 range.
    And after watching Avatar 3D where as the 3D aspect felt like it did back in the 80′s when I went to Disney world and saw my first 3D movie. . . . FORCED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only parts that felt good well awesome where the flying parts other than that it just felt outta place.
