Yakuza 4 Demo Has Japan Sleeping With the Fishes March 4

02/26/2010 Written by Anthony Severino

Yakuza 3, SEGA’s beat ‘em up based on the Japanese crime-syndicate still hasn’t made its Western debut yet, however, there is already talk about a demo for Yakuza 4: Heir to the Legend hitting the Japanese PS Store next week.

While North America and Europe finally are treated with Yakuza 3 in just 3 weeks, the game has already been out in Japan for a year now. During that time, SEGA was hard at work, creating a sequel to the massively successful (in Japan) brawler, Yakuza 4. Yakuza 4: Heir to the Legend releases in Japan on March 18, and to get PS3 owners in the Land of the Rising Sun excited, SEGA is putting out a demo for the game, next week on the PlayStation Store.

According to Siliconera, the 1.78GB demo lets you try out 2 different parts of the game; a battle mode, and glimpse at the beginning of the storyline. Along with that, Siliconera says there is plenty more to do:

Diversions such as karaoke, the hostess club JeweL, and an arcade equipped with UFO Catcher, Answer x Answer, and the shooter Boxcelios 2 are part of the demo. Players can also relax at a hot springs resort and play table tennis with one of the girls.

To download the game, you’ll need to have access to the Japanese PlayStation Store. Like Yakuza 3, don’t expect to see its sequel here in the West, anytime soon.

yay, but please stop covering “Yakuza 4″. The title for this article made me cringe. Good thing their aren’t die hard fans of the game here or they’d be pretty pissed. (it’s like saying, “Halo Reach Demo comes from heaven to create a miracle”, because Halo is called Halo… like an angel) Yakuza don’t drown people in the water like the Mafia (they remove fingers)[although in 2, you could throw people off a bridge]

  2. I played the yakuza 3 demo yesterday and really it wasn’t anything special , terrible camera angles during fights and while in the streets walking around made it almost unplayable so if that’s supposed to make me want to buy it then they aren’t getting my money anytime soon
maybe it has a great storyline or something but if you can’t get past the first 10 minutes because of poor gameplay who cares about the story

Yes, PlayStation Lifestyle is being so insensitive to the Japanese crime lords.
