Crysis 2 Screenshots are Visually Stunning

When Crysis was released a few years ago for PC, it set the bar for graphics extremely high. Crytek is aiming to bring the same level of breathtaking visuals to consoles later this year with the sequel, Crysis 2. These latest screens of the futuristic shooter, show that it will do just that.
The first screenshots have surfaced since it’s reveal in the latest issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine.

Screw the screenshots, give me gameplay footage and a release date!!!

Those are pretty fantastic looking, but I still don’t buy it. No way the game’s going to look like that on consoles.

I wouldn’t be suprised Jasper. Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 look similar. Crysis 2 could max out the PS3

TurKadir, I’m not saying the PS3 can’t do this. Maybe it can. It’s the fact that this is multiplatform and not by a first party studio that makes me skeptical. I’d love for it to happen though. Third party studios making something with graphics like this certainly wouldn’t be a bad thing.

I wish that it was ps3 exclusive.. isnt ps3 lead developer platform? If it was exclusive then they could make it look as good as these screenshots

to Foxy007 : its funny you should mention that because thats what we pc gamers said when it became known that it’s being ported to consoles. and yes, it will look that good, because cryengine 2looks better and this is more optimized. Cryengine 3 for consoles is pretty much cryengine 2.0 (pc) on medium settings.
The lead development platform is pc, but cryengine 3 has excellent generation algorithms so it is very easy to convert between the various consoles
