Uncharted 2 Patch 1.06 Coming Tomorrow

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was hailed by many as the best game of last year. The great thing about the title is that Naughty Dog have managed to keep it running strong and fresh with constant updates and regular patches. As usual, Naughty Dog are about to release yet another patch for their beloved Game of the Year, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Naughty Dog have officially announced the 1.06 title update for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The upcoming patch will both slightly adjust a few physical elements of the online portion of Uncharted 2 and will also include some more dramatic changes. According to the official Naughty Dog site, the following changes will take place in the 1.06 title update:

  • Removed automatic shoulder selection when players click the L1 shoulder button to aim
  • Delayed the appearance of the scoreboard to allow time for players to view any medals received simultaneously with player death
  • Adjusted hitbox attributes so that players will take less damage to the character’s legs
  • Decreased kill radius of grenades by 1 meter
  • Decreased accuracy of Down the Irons by 15%
  • Reduced rate of fire of the FAL by 10%
  • Reduced rate of fire for the Dragon Sniper by 10%
  • Collision and geometry changes to “The Fort” to prevent intentional glitching by players

The official 1.06 update is set to release tomorrow at 10:00am PST and will only affect the online portion of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

    that’s pretty dumb that they’re reducing Down the Irons by 15%. What’s the point of using that booster if they’re going to reduce the accuracy

    I agree exactly, I was looking down the list and the only two I don’t like is the change to grenades and down the irons

    I like the grenade changes. I would be RIGHT next to the person that drops the grenade and it always seems like I take all the damage and they don’t even flinch.

    As for Down the Irons, I’ve always used that until just this past week. Made a huge difference when I shoot from such a distance. But it just helped me get better and allows me to now use another booster instead. Just look it at as your opportunity to do the same. It really is an unnecessary booster.

    I’m glad they keep fixing things and making things fresh. Thank you Naughty Dog!

    Im sick and tired of the cheaters waiting in the walls and shooting at you.

    Play the game right or don’t play at all!!!!!!

  5. Thank God for The Fort changes.

    I’m a little upset about the “Down the Irons” one, but if it turns out bad, I’m sure they’ll just tweak it again. No big deal.

    Good patch but I wonder when will they adjust the power of shutguns? A LOT of players run to them when the game begins and start their boring show with getting as close as possible only to get 1 shot kill.

    @cmax420: funny thing is tho… every time I’ve played a group (except once er twice), that has had at least one player cheat, my group would win. They’ll get pretty good kill:death ratios but they still lose! Haha.

    @meghterb: I’ll admit that I will grab the moss and do the same if others haven’t swarmed to it already. Not really my style tho. But just find out if a player is doing that and stay away from hallways. If I see them coming I usually have a good chance of droppin a grenade er running away and using blindfire. I do notice you have to get a lot closer than before, but if it didn’t kill you in one shot at that distance than it wouldn’t be a SHOTGUN.

    I’m glad they changed the grenades, twice on the online section I’ve been playing a co-op match and some idiot has thrown a grenade right in front of me and killed me right at the start of the match. Nice to know if I at least jump relativly far away I’ll be safe.

    I wish they’d make it like Time Crises and have some kind of point deduction for injuring team-mates while on Co-op maybe then people would aim BEFORE FIRING THEIR F**CKING ROCKET LAUNCHERS!

    I reckon on Co-op they should make the shotgun enemies easy to knock over or at least make it so when you get grabbed it puts a message saying “FUNNYDUDE6556 NEEDS HELP!” on the screen while not allowing enemies to throw grenades at you,

    I swear sometimes it’s like they’ve planned it all out, grab you from behind and then have someone else toss a grenade at you so you have basically NO CHANCE!

  9. Naughty Dog needs to fix how the new maps get selected in public matches. As it stands now, they NEVER come up in rotation. I’m being told everyone in your lobby has to have the new maps DLC purchased in order for them to come up. Do you now how RARE the chances of that happening are??????

    PLEASE NAUGHTY DOG – PATCH HOW THE NEW MAPS ARE SELECTED SO WE CAN ACTUALLY PLAY THEM ONLINE
